I don't want the government to have the power to kill.

Cost
How hard it is to be beyond reasonable doubt
No way back if a mistake is made
Giving a government the power to kill
That it isn't an actual detterant
You can call people liberal twunts all you want because they aren't short sighted zealots like you but murder's human rights aren't a reason.
No cost, mistake or proving beyond doubt as far as the likes of venables and Huntley are concerned. No right of appeal.

Well having worked with homeless people I can assure you the vast majority of homeless people have mental health problems
Unless you are saying you have worked with homeless people and the ones you worked with were all junkies and alcoholics ?
Which is it ?

The only problem with that theory is that there have been several cases where someone has been convicted “beyond all reasonable doubt”, executed, them found to be innocent.

Oh the irony
I thought you would have been on the Everton forum now getting outraged on behalf of a group of people who have nothing to do with you.

Oh right , you are clearly an authority on homeless people by volunteering " a few times "
Well done for giving up your time though , even if you are being daft

This has been a good thread for debate, let’s not reduce to name calling.
It will only get deleted otherwise.

Only to the name callers Sludge, I was having a discussion with you.
I take on board some of what you’re saying but we will have to agree to disagree.
Goodnight

Rape is a grey area, especially these days where touching someone’s knee is classed as sexually violating someone.

It can be but when a man's DNA is found on numerous unrelated victims in different locations as it often is with serial rapists like the M25 rapist then there is very little grey area , these men are sexual predators
And they should be in prison for life , as should dangerous sex offenders
I don't agree with killing them but that's just my view

Wouldn’t say it’s a grey area, if a person (male or female) disagrees to having sex with someone else or isn’t in a condition to agree or disagree to it then it’s rape.

Violent rapists who are jailed for life can swing most definitely

It’s not just disagreeing though is it? These days they are saying if you’re too drunk to say yes that’s rape. Chef Evans case being an example.
Somehow it’s only how intoxicated the female is taken into consideration and not the man.
There’s also many cases of women falsely crying rape so a grey area for me.

I think you are a little confused about all this
Putting a dangerous man behind bars is punishment and that is what is needed , it's also justice
Executing someone sets a precedent and I would rather evil people get locked up than capital punishment brought back as it panders to the foaming daily mail and sun readers and one day will lead to innocent people dying at the hands of the state
Lock them up for life
If that makes me a liberal lefty then so be
