Interesting times. I wonder, would Trump press "the button" to hold onto power? I don't think it's that ludicrous a question given what we are dealing with. Thing is, any power he had in January has gradually been whittled away as things like the pesky constitution gets in the way.

Conservative commentators hammered ABC News over its faulty report Friday claiming then-candidate Donald Trump had directed Michael Flynn to contact Russian officials during the 2016 campaign.
The initial report, which aired during ABC News' “Special Report” around 11 a.m. on Friday, cited a source claiming that a close associate of Flynn was prepared to testify that Trump "directed him to make contact with the Russians" during the course of the 2016 presidential race.
Around 6:30 p.m. ABC News’ Brian Ross issued an on-air “clarification” that their source had explained that it was only after the election that “President-elect Trump asked [Flynn] to contact Russia on issues including working together to fight ISIS.”
ABC News added that the extent of campaign communications between Trump and Flynn on the matter, according to the source, was limited to “Trump asking him during the campaign to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other world hot spots.”
ABC News later deleted a clarification posted on Twitter, which drew intense criticism online, and upgraded it to a correction. A network source said the matter would be addressed on-air Saturday.
The original reporting, which proved to be inaccurate, appeared to link Flynn’s electoral contacts with Russian officials directly to the president, a connection he has denied the existence of.

We deeply regret and apologize for the serious error we made yesterday. The reporting conveyed by Brian Ross during the special report had not been fully vetted through our editorial standards process. As a result of our continued reporting over the next several hours ultimately we determined the information was wrong and we corrected the mistake on air and online.
It is vital we get the story right and retain the trust we have built with our audience –- these are our core principles. We fell far short of that yesterday. Effective immediately, Brian Ross will be suspended for four weeks without pay.
Who will the next apology be from?
Its a gripping tale, a ripping yarn.
Unbelievable. Fake news? Fake tweets, Fake.. WTF?

"Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, John Dowd, told CNN on Sunday that he wrote a tweet for the @realDonaldTrump Twitter account about the firing of former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn.
"I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI," the Saturday tweet reads. "He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!"
Dowd said he drafted the tweet and believes White House social media director Dan Scavino posted it online. He declined to answer additional questions about whether Trump reviewed the tweet before it was posted.
"Enough already," he said in an email. "I don't feed the haters."
IF any of that is true -
Maybe Donald doesn't write all of his tweets, and somebody else in the team is tasked with banging out shit stirring tweets pretending to be POTUS , day and night.
Crazy, but plausible. I used to think Bannon's team probably wrote some of them for a while, until he had to go ..
But surely POTUS / Donald reviews them?
I'd want to know - which ones did/didn't POTUS/DT write? - surely a massive question , again - if this story is true.
But either way - he clearly has stood behind them.
Except the one where he seems to incriminate himself?
Nail on the head vimto, and it tells you just what a massive blunder it was by Trump to tweet that. Maybe he's learned in future that he should check with his lawyers before tweeting, maybe he hasn't learned that as long as there's someone stupid enough to take the rap.
Or maybe it's all too late for him now anyway..
Interesting developments!
In an attemp to change the conversation, Trump fully endorses Roy Moore.

'Huggy Bear says that word on the street' is that Son in law Mr J Kushner - who has rapidly found himself rather rapidly and increasingly 'distanced' from/by the President - might be taking a turn in the barrel next.
Who knows .. will soon see.

Still all seems to be about opinions at the moment. We'll know what happens as it unfolds - or doesn't
