Re: The Guardian article (City Featured)
My fav moment was Gunnar's goal v Man C.Our first prem goal. I never thought I would see the day. I shed a tear. Worst, well I think the unpleasant atmosphere around the club caused by the rebrand.

Re: The Guardian article (City Featured)
Beating the jacks was good, as was Kimbo's late equaliser against Man United, but at the final whistle of the Man City game I really thought we'd "arrived" as a club (on the pitch anyway) - there was a six week or so period before all of the crap between Tan and Mackay became public knowledge where you could begin to think of us in terms of being where we belonged.
Worst for me was Cardiff 0 Hull 4. There were still about ten weeks of the season left, but being embarrassed at home by a team we'd finished well clear of when winning the Championship less than a year earlier (the other promoted side, Palace, also stuffed us at home a few weeks later) told me were doomed and really brought home how much we'd cocked up what was a great opportunity.
Favourite player from that season? David Marshall, by a country mile.

Favourite moment: the march before the Liverpool game.

Re: The Guardian article (City Featured)
Best bit, Man City. Beautiful day, unbelievable result, us doing the poznan taking the proverbial out of the Mancs.
Worst bit, doing it in red

I didn't consider that period as 'our club' at all.

Best bit. Not getting a season ticket because of the rebrand
Worst bit. Finding that 12 months later, there wasn't a queue of people ready to take my place. There still isn't.

What about the season before for you? Was the worst bit not getting a refund on your season ticket?

Hence the on the pitch bit - the rebrand was down to someone off the pitch.

The Guardian article isn't about that, so start a relevant thread.

Probably deserves its own thread, "Best and worst bits of the promotion season". Then people can get nostalgic about that one too.

Worst bit of that was being 7,000 miles away on holiday when we clinched promotion

Best bit: one of the few good bits was city fans signing Eddie May's name against Charlton minutes away from promotion.

I do hope you are not trying to turn this into another hoary re-brand thread 😎

Good reasoning, there are only two places I can be at any given time. With TH or at a Cardiff game.

In the absence of a denial it's the only conclusion there is to draw.

Spoken like a rational thinker. I wasn't at the game, I can't remember where I was. Probably the hospital with my sick grandmother, she passed away that summer.

Ah, the old thread stopper response. I still think you'd have known what you were up to the night the team you claim to support secured promotion to the premier league.
