So who are you voting for then ? Cards on the table
Far from perfect and we need a new leader but its labour for me , locally its the only party that can challenge the Tories , its a marginal seat and the gap is only 2000 votes
No liberals standing , just greens so its a two way scrap
Up the city

Re: So who are you voting for then ? Cards on the table
Still a don't know. I know there's a lot of talk about Labour losing seats in their heartlands, but, surely, that doesn't include Rhondda? Therefore, I don't think my vote will count for much anyway, but it'll be for one of Greens, Plaid or Labour.

Oh yes , lots of people who voted to leave in the valleys ......turkeys voting for Xmas basically ......will vote Tory of that I have no doubt
Its incredible but given how ineffective corbyn is, labour are going to lose a lot of votes in the valleys
Wether it transforms into losing seats is a moot point

Re: So who are you voting for then ? Cards on the table
I rejoined Labour last week after 6/7 years out - blame Ronnie - so Labour for me.
My constituency was Labour in 2017 - but it was Jared O'Mara who was suspended and resigned the whip after a social media scandal and some other stuff that slipped past the vetting process. Before that it was Nick Clegg! This constituency always used to be Tory (it was held by Sir Irvine Patnick of Hillsborough infamy - he was the runner between No 10 and The Sun) before the Lib Dems got it with Yellow Tory votes. Locally Labour is saying it is neck and neck but I will be amazed if the Lib Dems don't take it back easily.

Re: So who are you voting for then ? Cards on the table
I won't be voting 'cause it matters not who wins in my opinion. Plus not doing so serves as a protest against the powers that be who won't institute a real secret ballot.
I won't be betting either as the bookies have a ludicrously low maximum liability.
Lib Dems are generally priced at 1-3 to take Sheffield Hallam. Be lucky to find an outfit who'll take a wager of £250 on that outcome.

Lib Dems I suppose , Labour have broken my heart , wish they hadn't said they will revoke article 50 though without seeking a democrat vote from the people first ,its a very unlikely Liberal stance .

Jo Swindon took a leathering off Tory boy Andrew Neil , felt quite sorry for her but she voted for the disgraceful benefit reforms by the Tory government so I didn't feel sorry for her for long

Re: So who are you voting for then ? Cards on the table
No one, seriously. I've heard nothing from any party that would make me get up, walk over to the skool in this bloody cold weather and put an X, different colour rosettes but no real choice, Looney tunes left, charlatan right, nothing of substance in the middle. It would have been Plaid Cymru but, how long you got :hehe:

Are you Cardiff north ?
Every vote counts there , it's highly marginal
If you don't vote labour and it goes Tory watch out for the most right wing government since Thatcher
A hung parliament , which is the best labour can hope for , will at least pull back Boris and his public school boys from letting the free market run wild
As for plaid they are a true socialist party but are directly pro independence and I could never vote for that
-
Re: So who are you voting for then ? Cards on the table
Brexit hardman Steve Baker is my local MP.
Labour came a clear second last time so will be voting for them.
Pretty unlikely that they will win, but it is a remain constituency.
It's the hope that kills you!

If I voted Labour just to stop Boris and his public skool boys it's almost and endorsement for Corbyn and that isn't going to happen

Agree regarding the independence bit
Labour for me, has to put together a team that can deliver centrist policies, I'm quite happy to pay a little more tax for good management of public funds, fee Wi-Fi, free pot noodles, free this, free that isn't good management, services cost and should be paid for, I said previously that I do not trust the Tories with the NHS, I wouldn't trust Dustbins lot with a penny on anything, their outrageous freebies promised, from a personal perspective I'd love Dustbins promise for the WASPI women, my wife is one of them but that ship has sailed IMO, I'll not vote again for anyone or anything ever (politically), it's a corrupt club and we aint in it and never will be.

I can't see anything but a Tory majority myself but will be voting labour to try at least locally to dent the Tories

Corbyn did well to hold back may but he should have stepped aside and allowed a more moderate face to take over , as it is his ego has made him think the country was going to elect a far left government

Literally applogised for that today I understand .
Jo Swinson apologises for backing coalition's austerity policies

Re: So who are you voting for then ? Cards on the table
Swinson claimed she was 'forced' to vote the way she did as she was a government minister. What she meant was she chose to do so to maintain her higher ministerial pay and perks.

"It's your number on the electoral roll," she replied. "So," I pressed, "my choice of candidate is easily identifiable then?" That nonplussed her. She pulled a face and glanced at her colleague with a "I think he might be pissed" expression. She did concede it would be possible for a third party to discover my and every other person's vote before adding "that would never happen". I implied she was remarkably gullible and she scowled again.

Not a chance. The Conservatives are toxic in the valleys and the Brexit Party will be standing there, that'll split the Brexit vote
Talk of the Tories gaining Labour heartlands and former mining communities is wide of the mark, they tried the same strategy last time and failed miserably

I think their current policies are very centrist. It's the Tories who are extremists

Let's hope you're right. I can see the Labour vote reduced but I hope it's still enough to cling on to their seats. Hopefully tactical voting will ensure Plaid and the Lib Dems pick up a few off the Tories

A lot of working class labour voters in the valleys voted to leave , they may fall for the Tory spin machine , hold their noses and vote Tory , believing Boris and his bullshit bus that is saying they will get brexit done , in about ten years I suspect
I am not saying pontypridd and ogmore and merthyr and cynon valley will go true blue but I definitely think labour votes will be lost to the Tories in the valleys

People said the same about the 2017 election, when push comes to shove people can't stomach voting for them, also the Brexit Party will be standing in the Valleys, that's where the leave vote would be more likely to go
Also important to note that a lot of leave voters were people who didn't normally vote, so when people say "There's 52% of the population who'll vote X because of the Referendum" its not entirely true

yep and I see the headline returns in the Tory blueprint
Raising the National Insurance threshold, which the independent Institute for Fiscal Studies says will save workers about £85 per year
Ending the automatic release of serious violent and sexual offenders
Increasing the amount migrants pay for using the NHS
Finalising an agreement with mobile operators over countryside coverage
The Conservatives have also said they would introduce a number of pieces of legislation in the 100-day timeframe to take the first steps on other promises including:
A law to raise minimum per pupil funding in schools
A law to ensure £33.9bn is put into the NHS each year by 2023
A new points-based immigration system
The roll-out of gigabit broadband

Agreed. Impossible to conceive a Tory MP will be returned at the constituencies you mentioned and plenty more besides in South Wales at this General Election or any future ones because, let's be frank, a red rosette could be pinned on a Labour candidate who's a serial axe murderer and they would still canter home.

As I stated, the primary reason for not voting is it would be a waste of my time.
An extract from the late comedian George Carlin's polemic The American Dream sketch - "Forget the politicians. They are irrelevant. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice! You have owners! They own you!"
Who are the owners? Bankers. Multinational corporations. Major landowners. Liz from Buck House is also with them behind the curtain having a chuckle. That same Liz who's head of state but who no-one has ever voted for. Which reminds me, in addition to secret ballots being a lie so is the 'Britain is a democracy' bullshit we're constantly subjected to.

Re: So who are you voting for then ? Cards on the table
Will be voting Plaid. I'm not necessarily a big supporter of independence however Plaid will take a long time to get the MPs/AMs to genuinely advocate a indy ref, they have said they need at least 2 full Welsh Assembly terms before they would realistically like independence.
Other than that, they are a socialist party, I genuinely like the majority of their manifesto and ultimately they are the only party that will speak for Wales and push for investment in Wales. They are also pretty much the only party who haven't lied to peoples faces and backstabbed the public in any way (probably as they have never had significant powers).
Time to give a chance to Plaid (and in 2021).

They are a genuinely socialist party
And that appeals to me
But they are an independence party to the core and I can't vote for that

What a sad state of affairs in a modern soceity has a country we suffer from wanting a change , instead we just keep thinking about the coal and steel era and its dying embers of life , strangley the green agenda seems to support the removal of the heavy industrial manufacturing world .

You don't fancy independence, Sludge? Might be better than being England's poor relation. Scotland could go that way if Johnson gets in and we at least have a claim to such a thing.
