World Cup must be in doubt now
The escalation of anti Russia media reports, sanctions, military threats makes the possibility of boycott more likely than not.
It’s been building for 5 years to this.
I’m not taking sides but I suspect it will be ruined as a sporting spectacle by events over the next few weeks.
Anyone agree?

Sponsors and broadcasters etc are more powerful than any government.
It will all happen as planned.

Re: World Cup must be in doubt now
There's a good chance that England will boycott it by actually turning up to play as normal. Teams that refuse to even board the plane as a protest will still make it further than that lot.

I so hope Ingerlund go out there.
My favourite world cup moment is when the unbeaten Ingerlund qualification team fly home after the group stages.:hehe:

I wouldn't worry too much. We'll all be dead before it starts.

European teams planning to withdraw late in the day. No consideration for the fans as ever.

Re: World Cup must be in doubt now
If it was being held in Derby then the whole competition would be snowed off the morning of the opening ceremony.

Last place on earth I'd go, how could you relax have a beer ,even before this you saw Russian gangs fighting in Euro's who looked more like created military militia than real footy drinking fans , they were allowed to cause mayhem and return with praise from public officials , not one arrested or banned .
They have the same hells angel gangs marauding in and out of the besieged Balkans and Ukraine with pride and support of its leadership .
Nasty country Russia.
