At the end of a 2/3 year contract he will be 36/37!

This is literally the opposite of what we should be doing

At his stage in his career, not a player to help us stay up or get promoted again. If he was signed alongside another younger quicker striker then I'd be less concerned.

Reminds me of the Lambert deal. Everyone is different though and he may still have the legs to do it but it should only ever be a year contract.

He once scored two own goals and missed a pelanty in the same match (4-0 defeat to Chelsea).
It was a bad day to own him in your fantasy football team.

I can see the logic of 1 or 2 battle hardened prem players in the squad for 1 season only.

Yeah, I can see the logic in that. Still not sure it should be walters
He's played more as a winger than a striker over the years, and you want your wingers to be young and full of energy, not in their mid 30s, having had serious knee injuries in each of the last several seasons.

I don’t even see the logic in that. I’ve seen people mention Gareth Barry and the like... are they nuts?
Young or 30 yrs old max, hungry to prove themselves or even better prove others wrong

Re: Let me kick start an old rumour .... Jonathan Walters
Oh and btw, please not Walters. I’d rather Mark Walters

I'd take him on a one year deal. That's it.

So you're saying we should sign someone as back up for Madine?

Jonathan Walters anyone?
Jonathan Walters has made no secret of his desire to leave Burnley this summer in a bid for regular first team football.
Could Cardiff be a decent fit?
Boss Neil Warnock has long admired the former Stoke City ace and even tried to sign him for QPR eight years ago.

My sauce is a Stokie, I think Walters still lives in the area. Walters is 5th choice at Burnley and looking for a loan. Somewhere in the last few months we've supposedly asked about his availability.

We need to get someone who is better than Madine for starters! I want someone who's arguably better than Ken but someone that can actually challenge him for a place would be fine.

Has he ever been in anyones fantasy football team? :hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe:
If so trading standards may have a problem with the word 'fantasy'.
