If there was to be a Celtic football side...

Northern Ireland losing tonight and with me hoping Ireland get absolutely hammered in their Play Off, got me thinking of a hypothetical all Celtic team if none of them made the WC.

Which of the Wales players would make it other than Bale, Ramsey, Allen, Davies and Williams? Or would only Bale or Ramsey be assured of a starting place in your opinion?

Would you put Hennessy in there? Or how about the ever present Gunter?

Then which NI, Scottish or Irish would make it? Snodgrass, Jonny Evans, Leigh Griffiths, Craig Gordon, Harry Arter perhaps?

I came up with a 4-2-3-1

So I make that 7 Welsh, 3 republic of Ireland and 1 Northern Ireland, and we are still shit up front, at right back and at keeper.

Tierney looks a prospect but not ahead of Ben Davies who is already playing for one of the premier league big boys and having an excellent season.

Griffiths perhaps, if he can do it at a higher level.

Shane Long hasn't scored for about 30 games. You can't play Long. I'd play Davies in a back 5, with Tierney at LWB and drop Brady, and I'd probably play Griffiths up front, or Bale through the middle which I think will happen for Wales in a few years now the emergence of Brooks and Woodburn has happened.

Disappointingly, none of these teams are that much better than we currently are, and aside from Bale and on a good day Ramsey you could say the same for the other Celtic teams

Jeremie Menez, Yann Kermogant and indeed one Adam Levine Fondre would be eligible.

None of the above would get in a Wales side, let alone a British team. Menez would have started 3/4 years ago but he's past his best now.

Not too familiar with many of the names in the Breton national team, there may be some decent players in there.
When you consider the number of caps that Simon church seems to amass I think we would still be picking Menez
