Would you prefer our 09/10 squad or our current squad (after some new signings)?

Just thinking back to the 09/10 season and the 6-1 win at Derby.

I've probably forgotten some players, but the squad was something like:

Marshall
McNaughton, Hudson, Gerrard, Kennedy, (Quinn?)
Rae, Whitts, Burke, Ledley, Matthews (Taiwo, Scimeca?)
Bothroyd, Chopra, McCormack (Ethuhu?)

After we sign a few players this season, which squad would you prefer to play with for this upcoming season?

Our new signings have been brilliant, and they haven't put a foot wrong so far.

Na, they’d all be to old and slow now, as they’re all 10 years older

2010. As long as NW let them play football.

I’d take the 2010/11 squad over the 09/10 one.

Add Bellamy, Olofinjana, Koumas, Emmanuel-Thomas 😂, McPhail, Heaton, Gypes and Parkin 😂😂😂😂😂

Because promotion comes with clean sheets and good defence rather than a lot of goals.

I mean .... A lot of goals is nice and it will help, but it's not enough on its own

About the twio only changes you'd expect from that line up would be the introduction of McNaughton, and Ledley, though who would you have dropped for Ledley?

Cardiff's current first choice XI is something like

Etheridge
Peltier Manga Morrison Bennett
Ralls Vaulks Bacuna
Mendez-Laing Hoilett
Reid

If you had to make a combined team, how many from each would you pick (sticking with 4-4-2)?

Marshall (better distribution)
McNaughton Manga Morrison Kennedy (thought Kennedy was a good full back with better distribution)
Mendez-Laing Whittingham Vaulks Hoilett
Bothroyd Chopra

I make that 6-5 to the 2009/10 side.

Dave Jones had zero idea how to play the 3.

Also when Bothroyd got injured he picked Etuhu instead of McCormack.

The 2 man central midfield he picked was not good enough either.

Ah yes, the worst substitution in the history of Cardiff City, until Fulham away last season. I wonder what the next one will be!

Think our defence is much better but the older team looks better imo.

We seem to have a habit of getting lots of good players at centre half and not had many really good midfielders
