It’s not a friendly, it’s a competitive game!
Re: Wales football Thursday
Left it too late and only bought my season tickets yesterday. Didn't want to pay over 120 and the woman on the phone said the canton stand is sold out so up in the new stand. Surely there will season tickets available for just the euro qualifiers? So will sell more.

Bollocks, it's just a glorified friendly
I think I read somewhere, that players can still swap allegiances after playing in these games, if that is so, they are friendlies.
Even if it's not true, they are still friendlies.

Well you're wrong and I don't know where you've read that.
Anyone capped in these games cannot switch, they are competitive games.
Anything that counts towards qualifying for a major tournament is a competitive game and the Nations League games do exactly that.

Be worth going to see Brooks and Ampadu get their first caps :ayatollah:
Re: Wales football Thursday
Not a friendly but the build up isn't like a qualifier either. Feels like a mix between the two which being a new tournament I guess is right.
Perhaps all the Denmark nonsense overshadowing it I don't know.

How are they friendlies? Win the group and you only have to win a 2 legged semi final and a final to get into the euros

It’s a bit of a shit format but it’s better than just an out and out friendly. At least it has something riding on it.

It's a competitive game, as Zenith has pointed out there are prizes to be won, but I agree with your description about how people are feeling about it. It's games we need to win so hopefully crowd gets down there to see the best of the old and the new generation.
Re: Wales football Thursday
If we win the group we get promoted and will play home and away against the top ranked teams regularly in the future. France, Germany, Spain and so on. That would be much better than all of these friendlies against the likes of Panama, Mexico and China.

They've both been capped already, albeit in friendlies.

Do you get a cap for a friendly (I literally mean a cap)

Yes, you don't get them for exhibition games (like when Wales played Leyton Orient)
Re: Wales football Thursday
Beat Ireland and Denmark this week and we'll be in touching distance of promotion to League A when we'd play the likes of France, Germany, Spain etc in competitive internationals. Only downside is the bandwagoners will be back
Re: Wales football Thursday
Whether or not they've been capped is immaterial really because they're still not committed to Wales but if they play in one of these two games they are.
Good to hear Brooks say he's staying with Wales even if he doesn't get on in one of them.

He should be starting these games imo
