Bank of England refuses to hand over Venezuela's gold
What a bunch of shysters the City of London banksters are. Mind, I must say that any country stupid enough to entrust safe storage of their bullion to those crooks risk being shafted. This malarkey should alert other countries to the dangers of vaulting their gold in Britain.
The Bank of England (BoE) is refusing to release around $550 million in gold owned by Venezuela back to the country over the UK regulator's claim of growing uncertainty about Caracas’s intentions for the 14 tons of gold bars. More: https://www.rt.com/business/443516-b...enezuela-gold/

Erdogan and Maduro; a couple of really evil dictators , capable of bringing their respective countries to ruin.
Even their nearby neighbours, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay and Peru who are not big fans of the UK or USA have asked the
UN , five Latin American nations — Argentina, calling on the International Criminal Court to investigate the Maduro regime for crimes against humanity.

Both were democratically elected, very recently too, so am bemused by your dictators remark. I don't recall their military airplanes bombing Syria the other day or several other countries they had no business to and were illegal acts of war. The most egregious of which was Libya where Gaddafi transformed the country from one of the worst in Africa to the continent's most prosperous.
Returning to City banksters, when you, I, or anyone else deposit dough in banks it becomes theirs; we become unsecured creditors. https://www.gov.uk/government/consul...implementation

It's matter of opinion and choice of course ,however I'd prefer invest and trust in the UK , than some of the very dubious countries, like Syria,Lybia ,Venezuela, Turkey , you refer too , they may appear to be democratic, however for me it doesn't seem very democratic to lock up your opponents to
maintain power , and in some cases kill them .
Hey whatever floats your boat I suppose

If you're looking for real dictators cast your gaze towards the West's biggest chums in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia who publicly mutilate their citizens and provide the funding for terrorist groups such as ISIS. But I've read enough of your posts to know you're content to ignore reality.

Great or something else, the world's become so interconnected its economy will thrive, sink or continue to meander in unison along with the great majority of countries. Outside of another World War, it's a toss-up whether a deflationary or hyperinflationary future is dead ahead.
