From Grangetown. Live in the vale now. Can't actually say I've ever said it, but when I've seen it on road signs that's how I've imagined it's pronounced!

True, I'm afraid. There has been a movement within the education system in France in recent years to eradicate the use of foreign words, particularly English.

I always thought that Splott was pronounced as it is written.
But some people are trying to gentrify the place. Apparently, it is now pronounced "Splow".
