Snodgrass to City, West Ham will be looking to recoup as much money as possible
-
Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
The heading says ‘done deal’ but below it says -
“....Neil Warnock who has worked with Snodgrass before, seem to be showing an interest in the 30 year old winger/forward.....”
-
Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
Could well be a poor signing.
-
Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
Didn't realise he was 30.

Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
Don’t know why the comment poor buy was posted,he was Hull’s best player, did’nt fit in at West Ham,which happens, did well for Villa last season and is both within our price range and a player that Neil has always rated,I wouldn’t be disappointed to see him with us.

Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
He's 31 in September, no thanks
-
Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
Wouldn't be my first choice, but given our budget we could do a lot worse

30 is hardly old is it! I’d be very pleased if we sign him, exactly the type of player we need to bring in.

Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
Great signing if true.
Makes things happen
Good work rate
Critically he is a threat at set pieces- we will need that next season.

I'd agree with that, he'll bring a bit of "x factor" to a side which didn't contain a great deal of that quality at times last season if he comes here.

I can't be arsed looking, but how many assists did he have for Cilla last season, as it didn't HAPPEN for them !!!

Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
13 or 14 depending on the site you look at. Second highest in the league
-
Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
Would've been more excited if we signed him last season. Kind of ambivalent about it now.

Take it that's assists ?
Still didn't help Cilla, did it. ?

It helped them to fourth and the playoff final.

Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
Dead ball specialist, would be his last big contract.I also think WHU will just want him off their books.

So, they failed at the first step, then they failed at the second step.
Why are fans so keen to sign losers ?
It's the same when teams get relegated, a lot of fans start screaming, "sign him, sign him", for f ucks sake the fella just got relegated.
-
Re: Done deal Hammers site reporting
Would be an instant fans favourite, does the things fans love and does the things opposition fans hate

Getting 14 assists is amazing, the fact villa didn’t have enough goals to get them over the line shouldn’t be on one player. Grealish is being looked at by Newcastle and Everton should they not sign him because villa didn’t go up?
It’s one of the stupidest lines of reasoning I’ve ever seen. Athleticism didn’t win anything this season does that mean teams shouldn’t sign Griezmann? Did we sign a loser when we signed Marshall from relegated Norwich?

I'm not sure I've ever read such a flawed argument in my life.

Snodgrass has got 3 promotions, and has played for 3/4 seasons in the top flight, and done pretty well. Especially for Hull and Norwich. He's not my first choice but I don't know who you want us to sign. If we can't sign the best Championship players, or the worst Premier League players, we need starting Prem players that haven't gone down and they cost serious money.

David Marshall.
Didn't Scott Parker get relegated and win footballer of the year?
