Is that all you take away
A few Koln fans have made the trip to Arsenal today. About 20,000 of them

Incredible scenes on the TV. What on earth do they do here as presumably there isn't enough space for all these visiting supporters. Not as impressive as us at Brentford all those years ago!!!

Re: Is that all you take away
3000 tickets and 20000 turn up.
Great police intelligence

Köln fans have apparently been buying home-end tickets from touts all day, entered the stadium, & tried to jump over into the away end to be with the rest of their fans. 20,000 aren't going to fit into a 3,000 away end, and the police will be needed there and out on the street to control the remaining thousands that don't get into the ground.
Köln could've just been given a few thousand extra tickets, as Arsenal fans aren't going to fill the ground for this.

Arsenal fans buy the tickets for the points, even if they don't go.

Modern football eh?
This would never have happened in 1940.

Doubt it would have happened in the 70s early 80s. Most of those have travelled knowing they are safe.

Surely they should have known what was happening and stopped them getting near the ground. Or organised a bigger away end to a Accomodate them.
Any 2-1 now - it will really kick off now.

I don't think they would feel unsafe during any time period!

Re: Is that all you take away
looking at the pathetic crowd from Arsenal the Met could have housed the Koln fans in the empty seats

Surely that number of Cologne fans without match tickets shouldn't have been allowed to travel to London? German authorities to blame imo.

Why?
I don't think other countries treat football fans outside the law or apply terrorism laws to control them like they do in the UK.
20k pissed fans and hardly any trouble, just poor organisation by the met.
