When was the last time City finished above Villa in the league? Was it in the 70's, 60's or prior to that?

Enjoying the bragging rights at work for a change, especially as a Villa reject scored the goals that did it.

Out of interest Villa spend £40M on strikers this season & scored 48 goals, City spend feck all & scored 61.

1971/72 season

I`d guess 71-72 they got promotion from the third division that season and we were in the second division. By 74-75 they were promoted to the first and we were relegated to the third.

Is the feud with our old traditional rivals back??? Lol
