Many years ago I used to help run a kids football team.
When we went up to full size pitches at the age of 11, we had one kid who was really fast and skilful.
Basically he used to just run with the ball at every opportunity and dodge tackles from kids who tried any means to bring him down.
One time he picked up the ball by his own corner flag, then proceeded to run down the wing dodging about ten wild and desperate tackles, cut inside, jinked into the penalty area and chipped the keeper (who was about four feet tall).
At the time his teammates thought it was the greatest goal ever scored in the history of football. Us parents on the sidelines simply had a good laugh about how he managed to dance through some pretty woeful attempts at tackling.
Within six months those eleven year olds had learned how to actually play 11 a side and our 'star' player had realised why he wasn't actually going to be the next Maradona.
Watching the quality of the opposition on that clip reminds me of that day.
