Not been myself but Myrtle Beach comes highly recommended.
Charleston N C has the lot , golf , pussy and good grub

Myrtle Beach is a fair sized player in the " vacation club " ( timeshare ) world in the US, so must have a fair bit to do around the area
If your primary reason is golfing, don't go mid-summer. It'll be hot as ****.
