Re: Very poor attendance today
Just spent half hour typing out my thoughts just to get mugged off by the server when I pressed post.
To summarise I do think it’s pathetic that only 18k turned up but a post on here is preaching to the converted. We simply should have sold more STs last season. Why we didn’t I don’t know as I thought the pricing was great.
I’ve said this numerous times but our massive transition to becoming a family club is hindering those who don’t want that environment, who want hostility etc. Our chants are stale, repetitive and is killing the atmosphere. I don’t want us turning into a Reading.

So you appear to be advocating a return to 'the bad old days' when families with children and many other people were afraid to turn up due to the intimidation, fighting, rock/coin throwing, obscene and racial chanting, etc etc. What an attitude. Those times are gone, thank god, and we should all rejoice that everyone is now able to turn up in safety to just enjoy the football and occasion. Long may it continue. The atmosphere inside the ground is fine thanks very much (positively commented upon by the manager, players and many others in recent weeks).

He was playing fantasy football manager whilst his wife was next door having a threesome with the neighbours.

My final word on the matter .....honest
Read Bob Wilson's report on the game , he's far brighter than me and sums up the poor crowd response following the Leeds game in far more capable words than mine
No more comments on our fickle fan base for the rest of the season honest

Could you make the same pledge to desist from making crude observations about women too? Also, I for one don't wish to read vulgar so-called jokes about nuns and bananas.

I remember when people stated that they would no longer attend because of the red shirts and people posted things like this:
" You won't be missed"
Well.....

Re: Very poor attendance today
Ninian and Canton were full. The biggest difference in our gates now to our promotion season is about 4000 less in the Family Stand.
The last few years have seen a lot of the older generation move on in one way or another, but they haven't been replaced by a new one yet.
Many of the youngsters from 5 years ago are now in the Canton, but we don't seem to have attracted many new families to the club despite very good prices.
Maybe it needs a Ridsdale type gimmick - price freeze even if we go up or something.
Most of the difference is also down to a drop in season ticket numbers which I'm sure were pushing 18-20k and are now 13-14k
There never has been a consistently big walk up except for one off big games or offers.
I also think that as a club City need to do more to advertise how cheap the tickets are and maybe simplify the price structure for walk up crowds.
Although in fairness in recent times the club has been trying hard.

The family stand tickets were free to kids under 11 for a few seasons , which is why our gates were so high. In relative terms it's about the same if the season ticket sales are around 14,000 this year.

Maybe we should go back to that then. Don't think it would cost the club much at all.
Maybe a couple of hundred under 11s in there at the moment.
Promote this across schools and clubs in the City, Valleys and Vale ..fill it up and some of those kids will become fans for life and in a few years will be paying £300

I agree , an extra 3-4,000 kids in will bring back our average to over 20 000. They all want a kit and merchandise so that's your £50 back through other revenue sources.

My info, from someone well placed to know such things, is that it's a bit higher than that.

I got a great idea of how to increase season ticket sales, "GET TO THE FA CUP FINAL !
They'd all find the money then.

Swanseas average home gate this season is 20702 and their average for the whole of last season was 20602. These figures do not support his claims about our support, which is building nicely. If we are still in the top four in the New Year, the stadium will be full. He seems very keen to critiscise our attendance record whilst admitting that he does not attend games very often - not speaking from a position of strength there.
He sounds like that idiot from the other board
