Because Club A can't afford Player X until they've sold Player Y to Club B, but they're not sure if Club C are going to buy Player Z from them.
Are you new to all this?

Really , you think that how it works do you ? It’s not a house sale chain :hehe:
Are you not thinking clearly ?
Are you staying up until 11 o clock ?
Allsop was done weeks ago for example, so was Alex Smithies deal as I spoke to him at the time.

Come on Lardy, it’s been blatantly obvious for years that transfer deadline day is a conspiracy between the Premier League, the EFL, the Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, every other league in Europe and beyond, and Sky Sports.
It’s all about the viewing figures for Sky Sports News. Nothing more, nothing less.

So you think every single transfer is the same and that none of them happen quicker than others dependent on the factors at play? Just because some are agreed long before the announcement doesn't mean they all are

Alex Smithies neither arrived nor left on transfer deadline day. Not even close.

Panzo was unveiled this morning but is already in Ipswich and has had his initiation.
Probably done weeks ago.
Probably be yesterday or Wednesday at the earliest for completion.
They sometimes leave announcing it a day or two but not weeks.

Wow , I said weeks not months , where do you think these “rumours” come from ?

I know but I knew weeks before Leicester City announced it.

I’m sure that’s relevant to your argument. In your own mind.
Smithies was a free agent.

It's very much like a house sale, with a bit of poker thrown in, People negotiate for weeks, but it's not done until it's done, either party often changes their mind towards the end if they can find a better player or renegotiate the terms they do.

Splendid. But that has no relevance to your earlier suggestion whatsoever. Totally different scenario. Smithies wasn’t a transfer as such. He was unattached when he joined Leicester.

Re: Will we get any MOORE?
My friends son also signed for Burton Albion a few seasons ago I knew about it about 6 weeks before Burton Albion announced it as JFH asked him to join him. How does that work then as he told me not to say anything?

Remember when Kavanagh signed for Wigan? How did that work?
How about Sala’s transfer? How did that work?

Negotiated weeks before, but could have gone wrong at any time if another club had offered more, or Burton found a better or cheaper player.
Look at Moore we negotiated for weeks, at the last minute they sell him to Millwall that's football. (apparently but now people are saying he hasn't) anyway, you get the point it's not done till it's done.

You are going to get exceptions , nobody is saying you don’t , but the majority of these transactions are done weeks in advance. If you think otherwise when I’ve given you a few examples then that’s cool.
Most of the “rumours” tend to come true.

Re: Will we get any MOORE?
Moore to Millwall? Not in to that at all

Of course they are. And some are done on transfer deadline day. Cool, huh?

Man Utd would have about 200 players if half their rumoured signings came true.

Who has said none are ? But most are done weeks in advance and announced in the last few days. Cool huh ?

I’d go and have a lay down if I were you.

I bet you’re staying up until 11 for the drama as well
Allsop done weeks ago
Ramsey done weeks before it was announced
Panzo probably done weeks ago
Burton Albion transfer done six weeks before the “big reveal” etc etc - it’s called P.R

Re: Will we get any MOORE?
The concept that most deals are done weeks in advance of deadline day but not announced until the last minute so the teams that sign the players just don't get the benefit of those players playing for them for those weeks is one of the stranger things I've heard in a while, I have to admit.
Be like dropping a bunch of money on a 3 year lease for a Maserati and them telling you they can deliver it next week and saying "actually, just deliver it in a couple of months, wasn't planning to use it anyway". Bizarre.
