Cardiff v Sunderland - Live on Sky 12:30pm Sat Jan 13th, 2018

Re: Cardiff v Sunderland - Live on Sky 12:30pm Sat Jan 13th, 2018
So that would mean the time between our last Saturday 3pm home league game and the next would be over 2 months.
Brentford 18th November 2017
Bolton 27th January 2018

Sunderland fans who like to travel have been shafted here. But many others will be able to watch on the box.

This has now become a total disgrace and is ruining any attempt to build up crowds at the CCS.
Can't City just say ferk off Murdoch ?

City fans who like to travel are also shafted by this Mike.
I have a season ticket for a reason and the reason isn't so I can watch them on telly.

Bolton will be moved if we beat Mansfield in the cup

How much cash are we compensated with to be on Sky?

Whatever it is it’s not enough, what’s the point of them trying to boost the crowd by having offers on games when they let Sky put them on at stupid times

I think it is around £80k.

They could, but considering the Sky money is keeping most clubs afloat then beggars cannot be choosers.

£100,000 for the home side. £10,000 for the away team.
Sky give every EFL club £2m.
Every Championship club also gets £4.3m solidarity payment from the Sky money given to the Premier League.
Plus parachute payments.
Cardiff are getting a fortune from Sky. £100,000 equates to about 6,000 home fans spending £17 each.

Do you think that Cardiff v Sunderland at 3pm would get 6,000 more fans than Cardiff v Sunderland at 12:30pm? The Sky money equates to 6,000 fans. If Cardiff refuse, they also lose their £2m basic payment, and their £4.3m solidarity payment. How many fans would have to show up (on offers of £5 a ticket) to make up for the loss of Sky money?
Maybe the only way to make feelings known is to attack Sky instead of Cardiff City FC? If you subscribe, stop. If you subscribe, do you watch the occasional game between, say, Norwich and Bristol City at 12:30pm on a Saturday when Cardiff are away?

Sky now got a deal to screen 7.45 kos on a Saturday for the PL.

are we at the stage where Live football should be allowed at tv at 3pm on a Saturday? After all, we already have Champions League games screened live while Fleetwood are at home in the EFL trophy, so what’s the difference....and would it have much impact? How many fans would stay away from watching, I dunno, Bradford or Pompey because, say, Burnley v Stoke was live on SKY?

Tough one for us , cash we need, makes our inward income look good , fends off FFP dangers , allow us to spend .
No wonder the well supported clubs are wealthy ,their fans rock up no matter when or if it's televised .

So say when Newcastle travel to Southampton for a 7.45 kick off the away supporter pretty much misses out on his/her entire weekend.
Nice one Sky.

Fact is, Sky could turn to a club like Man U and say "You have to kick off against Man City at 11am on Christmas Day", and Man U would have little option other than to accept.
If people stopped subscribing to Sky, then maybe it would send out a message. Not sure there is an appetite to do that, though.

I’ve been saying this for a while. Attendance fees are such a small percentage of clubs income , especially at the top level. It makes sense to offer it pay per view at day £15 a game. And lower ticket prices at the ground to ensure full crowds etc. I think once amazon , Netflix , Facebook get involved this will happen. Or if sky change their viewing policy.

Don't know if anyone saw yesterday's announcement:
Sky will now host a PL game on a Saturday evening at 7:45pm, challenging the likes of X Factor etc.
From next season, Sky and BT will have 200 games between them.

Don't get this obsession with competition. In this market, people would want to follow certain teams so surely they would either go for both if they get the subscription, increasing the amount paid in sports per year.

What happened to the late Saturday Championship games on sky? This is a pain the arse for me. 7:30am kick off.

Isn’t that time slot up for grabs in the next bunch of packages starting 2019?
