Nandy
Shes only 40 and has years to sort out the mess corbyn left
Shes quite ruthless
Re: Who should I vote for?
Re: Who should I vote for?
Not Keir. Too centre right.
Re: Who should I vote for?
Each to their own, but this is not how I would do my due diligence.
Re: Who should I vote for?
Between RLB and Keir for me. Keir has gone up in my estimation since the start of the campaign, RLB has gone in the opposite direction.
Lisa Nandy is now the undisputed torchbearer of the Labour right wing - and revelling in it - although she has some good points to make.
Re: Who should I vote for?
Bookmaker odds indicate Starmer will walk it. Best price for him winning is a puny 8-1 on.
Next Labour leader betting odds - https://www.oddschecker.com/politics...-labour-leader
Re: Who should I vote for?
Kier has no charisma
Sadly modern politics is about image and personality
Nandy has charisma , image and personality
And shes a moderate , which is vital
Labour is never going to win a majority with a left of centre candidate , we have to go back to blair for our last period of office and he was a tory in a labour suit ....the first few years were good but then his true colours showed up
If we can get someone like nandy to appeal to the middle ground , which wins the election , then we might have a chance of a labour minority or coalition labour led government
But after the loss of all those seats to the krankies in Scotland, I cant see a majority led labour government in my lifetime ......and that's with a decent leader like nandy in charge
Tony Benn, skinner , kinnock , all great speakers but all mouth and no trousers
This country has sadly lurched to the right and the labour party must hit the middle ground if it's to have any chance
Rebecca long bailey would kill us off completely

On the hole people on here are pretty sensible.

I agree with you Sludge that it is unlikely we will see a Labour government, certainly in my lifetime, if not yours. I liked Corbyn and his policies, but as you say, GB is more right wing than ever. Sadly we need another Blair to bring a modicum of respectability back to Labour.
I really am confused as to which of the two(I am discounting Becky) will at least bring some sort of respectability back to Labour. The country needs an effective opposition to this terrible right wing cabal we now have. I will take your suggestions on board.
Thankyou

The country elects the government that The Sun newspaper advises them to. It has been thus for every General Election since 1979.
Re: Who should I vote for?
Kier. While it's about time there was a female leader I fear the signing of that trans pledge thing would be used as a stick to beat Lisa and RLB. I think it'd be tougher for the press to take Starmer down.

Agree with all of this and Nandy will be getting my vote.
Re: Who should I vote for?
Keir for me but I am not a member. Nandy is great at apologising and appearing contrite but I have yet to hear any substance.

She also does some Olympic standard head-nodding.:music:

Re: Who should I vote for?
Lisa Nandy.
Keir is going to win though.
Id give up on Labour if RLB is voted in.

Just had my voting papers. Had more or less decided on Keir, but Lisa is getting a lot of thoughtful support on here. Really not sure now.
Decisions decisions.
