Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
almost 3... good block in the end...
this is not good enough, we are not good enough
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Should be 3, shocking defending from a corner and Etheridge to the rescue
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
On the bright side, Niasse and Zohore with Reid in behind looks somewhat promising

I'd be very encouraged if it wasn't Keystone Cops stuff at the other end with some of our players thinking they're Beckenbauer when in the $hit.

Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Morrison under no pressure passes 10yds to a Wolves player ffs. He is fkn terrible

Camarasa showing some nice touches too

Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
The passing for their first goal was lovely but watch how the defenders are all attracted to the ball rather than staying with the runners throughout the move.
4 City players go towards the penultimate Wolves player to touch the ball, leaving the player who scored, completely unmarked in miles of space in our own box 🙈

Schoolboy defending

Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
You can tell the players are done mentally. Their heads just aren't in it, and it won't get any better as the games go on. We'll just trudge into relegation.
May as well start planning for next season in the Championship. :hehe:

We're caught between man to man marking and being attracted to the ball.
All it equals are the better attacking sides just passing quickly through us with ease.
Many of our defenders seem to think too slowly for this league. They lack physical speed as well as speed of thought.
I am as thankful to Warnock for promotion as anybody but the management and their inability to remedy our, at times, comical defending will be our ultimate downfall this season. We're not tearing the world apart at the other end but our defence has been woeful at times and is getting to about its worst at the business end of the season.

Absolutely
9 games left with 4 of those against the top 6 sides. We’re done.
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We are going down with a whimper
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
It was looking so positive after Southampton
We've absolutely fcuked it

Totally. We’re going down because of our inability to defend. The goal difference sums it up. The entire back four to be fair are reasonable Championship players, but that’s where it ends sadly

I'd argue that some of them have gone backwards since last season if I'm being honest.
I had great hopes Morrison would be a steadying influence and chip in with one or two at the other end. He has been bad for a large part. Individual errors by a few others have cost us games too.
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
wonder where we'd be with some investment in the back four. Neil is far too loyal to Captain Fantastic and Bamba and sadly that's looking like our downfall this season.

Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I got in the house just in time to see the wolves goals, so never saw what i believe to be a positive start, we just had two good chances for a goal, don't deserve to be 2 down on what i have seen.
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Don't worry though we'll have the same sound bites in the post match interview.
"Oh they're a great bunch of lads...."
In many ways the close relationships he has with some of them makes them almost undroppable.
Some are simply out of their depth. The answer would have been to spend more on quality but the club seem content with striving for the Premier League and then just giving it a cut price plucky go against the odds once we're there.
It certainly makes the 'chase' for promotion that much more hollow with these owners given their attitude once we're up.

He displays the quality that Wolves have in abundance. He must be wondering what the hell he has let himself into by joining us. I think he must be feeling embarrassed by what he's seeing from many of his team-mates.

We deserve to be 2-0 down because of poor defending, however positive we may have been going forward.
Wolves look like they are going to score every time they attack.
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
GOING FORWARD WE HAVE LOOKED BETTER THAN WE HAVE BEEN FOR AGES. PITY ABOUT THE DEFENCE.
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Same old story. The players we have are not good enough for the top level.

I wasn’t talking about the goals conceded today but in general, I did find a link in the end and I’ve seen better defending up Clydach

Both goals Bamba's fault. First one he steps out towards the ball and player, he either has to get the ball or foul the player, he does neither, player turns into the space left by Bamba-goal. The second one-**** me!

Stats from the first half suggested a fairly even game.
Massive test of character now

Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Reid off for Paterson
Why? Surely bring off one Zohore or Niasse for him?
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
oh **** me niasse 1st touch is shocking... and he took reid off!!!!
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Reid off for Paterson. WTF is Warnock thinking?
-
Re: WOLVERHAMPTON W v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We are ****ing useless. I don't know what Tan, Dalman, Choo, Warnock etc are thinking. Mid table championship next season, millions down the drain. Makes no sense.
