What annoys me about Watchdog, is the way they go about catching the scum out.
They set up a scam, but they end up paying the scum before exposing them !!!!
Why not pull the plug before giving them the “dosh”
Very annoying and not very clever

Very true. I got rid of sky about two years ago and got myself a Freeview box and there's still too many channels for me to watch, but at least I'm not paying £60 per month or how ever much it was to sit through adverts, as the breaks seemed to be increasingly longer.
I do have Netflix which I use a few times per week but my most watched TV channels are probably BBC Four and Channel 4.

Very true, frequent saying in our house is “So many channels, yet bugger all to watch”.

I actually think we are in the peak of great tv shows but most of them are on streaming services and not on tv. I think you could pick 100 tv series from the last 10 years that most poeple would enjoy watching.

You’re correct but, brilliant as a lot of them are, they are long term viewing. Five series with ten episodes per series is not uncommon which results in a lot of ‘padding out’. Sometimes the short, sharp all wrapped up in one or two episodes an hour long are preferable to me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed many of the box sets but we find ourselves sitting down, “We’ll watch one, 3 hours later we’ve watched 3, enjoyed them, yet no further down the road to the conclusion. You find yourself practically being part of the characters’ lives.

Shows like Black Mirror and inside no 9 are good for this, one off very entertaining episodes.
I agree a lot of the American shows go on too long, it's one thing the british shows have a better handle on I think.

I hate american sitcoms
Like alternative stuff like the much missed bill hicks
But american half hour comedy leaves me cold

You're probably right, I think my main problem is me, I'll often give up on something I'm enjoying. Last week I watched the Maradona documentary recommended by someone on here, and had to watch it in two sittings, enjoyed it though. I'm going to try and watch Peaky Blinders.

Here's a film I highly recommend at nearly three hours long. It's not for everyone in today's climate.
Give it a whirl when Loose Women has finished and you've put your old boy away.

I think that's a generalisation, they put out plenty of shit like Friends and big bang theory. But stuff like Seinfeld and Curb your enthusiasm is as good as anything I've watched.

They are superb and you can put My Name Is Earl in that category, I loved that.
