How people can think that stress only occurs in "life or death" situations is also beyond me.

I'd try to convince Mark Chapman to leave town with his autographed album.

Re: Which event in history would you change?
A butterfly flapped its' wings somewhere near Bali 5,000 years ago and everything went wrong.
If only it had done the same a little further to the east we would be living in a paradise of peace and plenty where Cardiff City F.C. won the European Cup every year, and Goslow and David Vincent are universally admired as paragons of rationality and moderation.
Sodding butterfly!

From a British pounds of view as well the first world war effectively ended Britain as the global superpower and left us in massive debt to the USA.
Standards of living amongst the middle classes in Britain have probably never been as high as in the present war period. Of course that was built on the backs of workers in the empire, so that's not necessarily a good thing.

Just slightly later that year, but 29th May 1954 for me. I would've outlawed the Bilderberg foundation before it unleashed its evil tentacles across the world.

If that happened, I suspect McCartney would have got the sort of recognition he deserved.

They can stick the common market up their collective arses.
Actually, it wasn't a bad idea.
What it evolved into is the problem.
