Championship set to resume on June 20th
The Championship is set to resume on Saturday June 20th. The EFL said the date was "provisional" and "subject to the strict proviso that all safety requirements and government guidance is met".
Cardiff City were due to host Leeds Utd when the League was suspended in March.
Re: Championship set to resume on June 20th
I asked on another thread but what happens to Cardiff's home games as the ban hasn't been lifted in Wales?
On a slightly different tack, if they have to play in an empty stadium would it be better to play in a smaller place so it didn't feel so vacuous. Perhaps playing Gloucester or somewhere?

But if they wont let them play in wales then that wouldn't work
If they do let them I'd agree with you 100 %. I think a smaller stadium might be less eerie that a large empty one. The down side is because the pitch can be overlooked it would probably be excluded. :frown:

Is the fixture list out yet? Are all games being played at 3pm on a Saturday? Any chance they will be televised?

Just saw this, wonder how much of a difference this will make

lt has also been agreed to consider changing the regulations to allow teams to use five substitutes in the remaining fixtures and field matchday squads of 20 players rather than 18.
And this, would love to be able to watch all city’s matches

Whilst matches will unfortunately have to take place without supporters, we are working with our broadcast partners, EFL Championship clubs and all relevant stakeholders to broadcast the remaining 108 games plus Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs either live on Sky Sports, iFollow or a club's equivalent streaming service.

I believe that a lot of games will be on free to air channels including BBC, but I don't know if that includes championship games or just the Premier league. Apparently Sky have waived their exclusivity clauses for a good few games.

But the point was if the Welsh Governemnt won't allow the games to be played in Wales. I think that rules out Newport.

The Welsh Government has confirmed professional sports in Wales can resume behind closed doors in line with the position in England.
On Saturday, 30 May the UK government gave the green light for domestic competitive sport to return from 1 June.
The English Football League (EFL) subsequently announced plans to resume the Championship on 20 June.
Horse racing and snooker were the first sports to resume in the UK on Monday.
A Welsh Government spokesperson said: "The resumption of professional sports behind closed doors is allowed under our regulations, including horse racing, and we are working closely with governing bodies to develop an overall approach for the safe return of all sport."
Wales' First Minister Mark Drakeford said in May he was not aiming to disadvantage Welsh sides involved in cross-border competitions.

Well that's a positive. Thanks!

Hopefully we'll hear what their plans are for season ticket holders to watch the games online.
