Club announce moment of silent reflection today
I understand all this has been done in close conjunction with sala's family so i do hope people stick to it.
Arsenal sounded a bit of a mess with some people (perhaps the arsenal fans?) clapping instead.
USW stand (think that's the canton?) will also have a tribute to unveil.

Absolutely the right thing to do and I am sure it will be observed.

They had a moment of recognition (not sure what else to call it) for Sala at a number of games that I saw last week and each time it resulted in applause rather than silence. Hopefully the club will be very clear with the message beforehand today.

How long is a moment. Why the rebrand?

Probably just whoever phrased it. Although perhaps, if it is less than a minute, it's the family's wish, maybe a minute would symbolise death and they see him as missing? Or maybe so it's less likely to be disturbed? I reckon it'll be a minute, they just used a different word for some reason.

I would have thought because he's technically still missing rather than deceased, probably being sensitive to the family

^This
I hope they find him and the pilot soon, to give closure to all concerned.

I read somewhere in all of the stuff that's been written since the plane went missing that Sala would be described as something like "missing, presumed alive" unless or until a body was found.

was discussing this with my son yesterday.
We think if you call it a moment the referee can determine the length of the silence.
If there is some noise building, accidental or otherwise the ref can blow his whistle to end the 'moment' at any time
better than having to abruptly end a minutes silence
