I remeber it being built behind the Canton Stand in the mid to late sixties.
I was too young to go in in those days except a couple of times when they would show screenings of old matches.
None of yoir 65 inch TV screens in those daysbjut a projector and portable screen
I remember seeing Real Madrid V Eintracht Frankfurt there. It isna shame tghe club let it run down to an extent where it had to be demolished. When was that?

It accidentally caught fire :hehe: during a time, when a director who is taking the club to court, was to the forefront :hehe:

You've also just described the old Prince Of Wales cinema (a friend went there once).

I went there before just about every home game in the early 70s. Consumed rather too much Guiness and Bacardi & Coke! Also attended a few Player of the Year functions at the club. On on such occasion one of the players mistakenly believed that I had insulted his wife and had me by the throat before his missus corrected him.

Will Smith would have missed your neck and followed through with his hand over your shoulder

My Grandfather was cinema manager there for several years (during the Bambi era I hasten to add).

You're going back a bit recalling when it showed dodgy films.
My sole visit there was to see one of Robin Askwith's Confessions of flicks. Plenty of thruppenny bits on view but quite tame. Nevertheless, one couldn't help notice the majority of the clientele wore macks of various lengths and were mostly hunched figures who held a hand to the side of their face hoping to conceal their identity.
I remember a much younger fella bowled in whistling merrily who didn't give a sausage about being recognised. The cheeky fecker had the nerve to wear a Liverpool FC top in the centre of Cardiff.
Assuming he was from Scouse land we decided to aim our Doc Martens in his direction outside after the show. We didn't on learning he was Welsh and a resident of Cowbridge.

Even back then the city centre was awash with Liverpool shirts
Not Liverpool City Centre though
They were wearing Everton tops

That would be telling. Even a clue might give him away.
