Re: Things The Younger Generation May Never Experience
Waiting for the football echo to be delivered to the chip shop so you could check who scored for or against the city. You knew the score from the telliprinter but not the scorers.

Re: Things The Younger Generation May Never Experience
Owning your own home. So hard for youngsters to save a deposit whilst renting a place these days. Back in the 80's there was plenty of cheap terraced houses that you could do up over time as my missus and I did.

Being openly racist homophobic against people and it's acceptable.
Getting second hand cancer from spending too much time in a pub.

Re: Things The Younger Generation May Never Experience
OMG I could type as essay ...
but sticking with the pub theme.
Lifting the barrel of scrumpy onto it's stand for the landlord and getting the first pint for free as a thanks.
Floating a coin on the surface of a pint of scrumpy.
Getting kicked out of a pub because the landlord said the chips we carried in would make his beer go flat
Driving to the pub in a Morris Traveller with split screen & 8 track
3 up on a motorbike with no crash helmets, drinking 12 pints & riding home
those we the days :)
