We were punished for errors big time, but besides that there was nothing in it.

We lost away from home in a 6 pointer and have realised it's quite a step-up
Brighton lost away from home in a 6 pointer and reportedly played poorly.
Watford aside, I don't think we have lost any ground today, although it's been a bit disappointing and could have been one of those 10 wins we need. Big week at the training ground but looking forward to seeing our new deadline day midfield and Murphy starting.
:hehe: Match Day 1 and you're talking about losing ground and not losing ground.

Positives -
Bamba won't be in midfield next week
Reid is good
Murphy is better, has to start next week
Ralls looked comfortable
Etheridge penalty save will be great for his confidence
We settled down second half and looked competitive.
Negatives -
LEE PELTIER
Bamba is not a ball player, in the slightest
NML was poor
-
Re: BOURNEMOUTH v CARDIFF CITY. Post match thread
Wasn't awful, just lacked upfront and at times in midfield. Think zohore would have improved us in terms of holding the ball up, arter would have helped control the midfield more.
Lot to work on but we all knew it wasn't going to be a comfortable season.

From what I heard and saw on the stream, we could have drawn today. But teams in this division, even those at the bottom, will punish mistakes..

I'm basing this on what I read here over the last 2 weeks.

I’d be more than happy if our so called fans weren’t so bloody negative and miserable after one game FFS.

Kris is, and always has been, a WUM on here. He's only back this season because he knows he will get lots of bites. Funny he was nowhere to be seen last season.
Don't bite or feed him and hopefully he'll bugger off. He may even be an alternative account for BIS...

Lacking in midfield, would have been good if City could have signed Gosling.

You are right on the last bit, I think he has already confessed to this.
At least his bet came in though eh?

Re: FT: BOURNEMOUTH 2 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I thought we were the better team from about 55mins onwards. Just switched off at the end. Even Bamba played better second half. Few points:
Murphy has to start
I think Reid will prove to be a good signing
We missed Ken, He links things so well, he’s not just about goals.
Ralls looked at home. I thought it was a strong performance
I think I’d rather a pairing of Bamba and Morrison
Bennett didn’t look out of depth, but Pelts did imo
Shame we didn’t see Camarasa
I think Arter will make us stronger

Re: BOURNEMOUTH v CARDIFF CITY Post Match Thread
That performance didn’t inspire confidence, however we should keep our heads up.
First of all, it was an even match overall with spells where we dominated.
Zohore, Camarasa and Arter are yet to come on for us and that would push Bamba back into his normal position.
We also made a fair number of chances
-
Re: BOURNEMOUTH v CARDIFF CITY. Post match thread
Some positive signs, Reid in particular for me looked very sharp - think he'd play well off Zahore. Murphy nice and direct too.
But, that midfield was woeful. Some of Bamba's touches were embarrassing, passing it into row Z etc. Patterson isn't a centre midfielder, not sure what he is. Ralls looked his neat and tidy self. Arter has to go straight in next week alongside that Spanish lad, with Reid in the 10.
Also, Bennett can't defend 1 on 1 for his life - give that Cunnigham a go.

We didn't have anyone available for midfield today! Think Arter will prove to be a great addition.
-
Re: FT: BOURNEMOUTH 2 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Reid has to sit behind Zahore or Madine.
Bamba needs to go.
As does Peltier.
We have replacements ready for them, so let's not panic.
Second half was a massive improvement.
I think the coach did the best we could hope for.
Let's enjoy being in the big game.
-
Re: BOURNEMOUTH v CARDIFF CITY. Post match thread
Sounds like we had a bit of fight about us in the second half but lacked a bit of quality.
Hopefully Zohore, Murphy and our deadline day signings will help.
