Hope nobody is still questioning that new contract
After that performance last night, you can see exactly why Warnock chose to give an improved contract to Bamba. Hopefully, that will put to bed the doubters who questioned the wisdom of the decision.
An absolutely superb performance all around by Sol Bamba tonight.

It was either 3 years or he leaves, so it was a no brainer.

He played like Franz Beckenbauer last night, awesome performance.

Nobody questioned that he's one of our best players now. But to give a 32 year old a 3 year contract is still debatable regardless of how good he was last night. The question is more whether he will still be holding down a first team place, justifying a big wage in 3 years time
Re: Hope nobody is still questioning that new contract
Talking about age, Roger Gibbins is 62 and he's still playing football, albeit in a veterans league.

He was immense last night. I do t say that lightly. Claude makelele in the making

Played golf with him a few weeks ago. Lovely feller, don't think he appreciated me telling him I used to enjoy watching him play "when I was a kid" though :hehe:

It is but he's almost certain to be a good player for us for the next two seasons at least, so the last year is a bit of a gamble but one I think we had to take.
Re: Hope nobody is still questioning that new contract
..and if he's not getting in the team when he still has a year left then we could possibly get a fee for him rather than lose him on free.

Is the correct answer
Re: Hope nobody is still questioning that new contract
Met him in St David's centre car park today. Got a photo with him. Seemed a really good guy and was happy to chat and get a photo taken.
