Why would it be socialism? The time to do that would be when they had a socialist government, Macron and co are hardly that.

An interesting article with greater insight as to why the yellow vest movement persists: France: Understanding the Gilets Jaunes Uprising
The French state has been bankrupt since 2004. A minister finally admitted it in 2013.
French GDP hasnt risen above 2% in 50 years. Yes - FIFTY. The average annual GDP growth rate between 1949-2018? 0.78%.
In 2018, 14% of the population in France live below the poverty line (they earn less than 60% of the median income).
Worse, more than 50% of French people have an annual income of less than 20,150 a year (about $1,900 US per month).
The 'official' unemployment rate is 10% - about 3.5 million citizens (in reality, it's much higher).
The youth unemployment rate is 22%. Yes, you did read that right.
Astonishing but true: the French government employs 25% of the entire French workforce...and it's impossible to fire them.

Did you check any of these "facts" before you regurgitated them or whether trends are getting better or worse? Some of the stats you quoted are not pretty but in a number of areas the trends are in the right direction and don't explain the "why now" on the gillets jaunes. The GDP stat is just bollocks.

I didn't check them, Cyril. I did post a graph in another thread last month showing that the French have become the most taxed of the OECD countries (https://www.wsj.com/articles/france-...try-1544004004) with the data compiled by the OECD itself, and from what I've heard the protesters say they've had enough of the tax burden.

Several more videos of Macron's police thugs in action yesterday: https://twitter.com/BasedPoland/stat...11271007199232
Police mercenaries are the same the world over; they'll do what they're instructed because... the love of money really is the root of all evil.
They're ****ing crazy the French didn't they smash up that bakery a couple of weeks ago because the guy was working 6 days a week :hehe:
Which Gallic hero will fall first, Macron or Trudeau? It seems like only yesterday that they were the big hopes for our globalist future.

RT is reporting 20,000 turned out throughout France last Saturday. That equates to one in every 2,500 citizens. Until a fortnight ago they estimated the numbers at 80,000 each week - still a miserable one in 800-ish - but attitudes changed when many shops were attacked by sinister figures clad all in black who were described as 'anarchists' but were really agent provocateurs who governments employ to discredit protesters, almost always with great success as they can rely on corporate media to peddle the narrative.
Slightly off topic, Notre Dame, sad to see this iconic land mark going up in flames tonight.
Went to see it in 2017, and sadly just watched this spire fall, whilst I think Paris isn't a nice City, there are some very nice attractions. I thought the church at Montmartre was better than Notre dame.

It's easy to see why so many are saying the blaze is symbolic or an analogy for what France is experiencing as it's being culturally and racially destroyed. Up until the last five years or so it was favourite to become Europe's first Muslim majority nation but the Swede's appear determined to win that race.
