How sad to see how poor the West Indies test team are. Compared to the finest cricket team ever seen going back 25-30 years ago how sad to see them now the equivalent of a Vauxhall conference side. Talk about men against boys. Money has ruined so much of modern sport.
Nah, it's not money per se.
Basketball has become way more popular there now. Pitches have also changed over the years. Biggest problem they have isn't money but the internal politics.
But why has basketball become so popular? Because of the riches to be made in the NBA. But I agree internal politics has a lot to answer for.
Well, I'd also suggest have a ball hurled at you at 80mph plus is slightly less appealing than basketball too ;)
The traditional 6 ft 5 fast bowler running in constantly on hard pitches would generally suffer more wear and tear on the body than by playing basketball as well.
