It's not very often that, after a considerable hiatus, bands release new material that is equal, if not superior, to their original material. Slowdive, one of the early pioneers of shoe gaze and dream pop, have surpassed their own ethereal sound with their latest release star roving , a tune that would not be of place on just for a day or souvlaki.

Very nice. I like the energy.

I find Slowdive a bit hit or miss on the whole. They're generally a bit too mellow and not always in a good way.

Looking forward to seeing them now.
