No, he's who I would have come up with if I'd been asked that question - the answer is quite a surprise despite him being with City through most of the decade.

No, this guy was playing for Palace when he was sent off against us.

Paul, in checking the answer for the 60s question I found the games against Benfica that they played in the 60s and noticed in one of them Dominic (Nick) Sharkey scored a hat-trick which rang a very large bell with me in that the City went to great lengths to try and sign him in 1966 or thereabouts. Do you or anyone else recall this or am I imagining it ?

I can remember him Rob, but I don't recall us being interested in signing him - in saying that, my recollection of that time is that the first I would have known about any player we were interested in signing would have been when it was confirmed he had joined Cardiff - I only tended to look Echo match reports when I was a kid.

By the way, Craig Davies played against Doncaster on the day that Chris Eagles played Hamilton. Probably doesn't matter much now but I wanted to get it off my chest.

All correct. Re Craig Davies. it looks like I made a mistake with one of my questions then, it's happened before and, no doubt, it will happen again

Not a mistake at all, just a coincidence. You'd asked who'd scored for Bolton at the CCS in the 10s and had played against a team in red and white hoops that weekend. As only four players had scored (and one of them has retired), the odds that two of the other three would both be playing at the same time against the only two teams in British football (that I know of) who play in red and white hoops must have been very long. If it turns out that Eidur Gudjohnsen was playing rugby league against Wigan that weekend it'll really freak me out. I doubt he was though.
