Not really, but I do get a nice warm feeling from the insurance companies when they have to cough up to me for storm damage caused to roofs.
I call it a little bit of pay back
Re: Thursday is Doris day
Why do we name our storms as if they're our grannies/grandpas? Desmond, Gertrude, Frank, Barbara, Doris...all sweet old ladies/gents.
Surely we should be fearing the arrival of Big Dave, or Mental Duncan, or Keith the Beast, or Mark?

Re: Thursday is Doris day
We've already had 2 days of 50 mph gusts causing havoc, and today is building up to be the worst yet.
Sheds, fences and domestic pets are all taking to the air!
Re: Thursday is Doris day
It's already caused £300 of improvements in Swansea/Bristol/Leeds.

When our shed was wrecked by a storm a few years ago, my kids stuck a pair of stuffed socks under it and took a photo - posted it captioned "welcome to Oz"
Re: Thursday is Doris day
It's utter carnage out there.
I've seen two wheelie bins blown over, a medium sized branch in the road and a woman struggling to hold up the hood of her coat.
Ewan McGregor is filming an appeal for aid at this very moment.
Stay safe people.
