Cash for crash Cardiff style...

True story this, several years ago, I was in my company car, had just gone up the slip road by Cardiff Met heading towards Howells school. this was rush hour and traffic was at a crawl. Turned the corner at the top and litterally tapped the car in front. Jump out, guy in front jumps out, exchange details, look at the cars, take photos, literally not a single scratch. Thought nothing more of it.
A few years later, i left that job and had to buy my own car so had to get my own insurance.
Conversation goes
"Any claims in the last five years sir?" No.
"Oh there is one from three years ago that was quite expensive so you won't get any no claims bonus" What claim??
"A car accident in Cardiff, the 3rd party claimed £6,000 for whiplash"

Turns out his insurance company/ambulance chaser had contacted my company insurance and nobody ever told me. these morons think this is a "victimless crime" but the real victims are Joe Public who have to pay more and more for their car insurance premiums.
