Showed how the video ref can be effectively used. Rather than the usual 5 minutes of disputes with the referee, the England defenders just asked him to refer to the video ref and then accepted his decision.

I lived in Venezuela for years, before it became the mess that it is now. It's the only mainland South American country that doesn't play soccer as its national sport, which is baseball. There was a small footy league, but the overall status of football was about the same as ice hockey here.

So it's good to see that they've started taking football seriously and produced a good crop of youngers able to compete with England's riches at World Cup Final level. They're hoping these kids will feed through into Senior level for the 2002 Qatar World Cup qualifiers -that's if the Saudis haven't bombed Qatar to hell by then.

Gutted they didn't win, though credit to St Georges Park. Will we ever see a Wales U20 in the final?

That Venezuela sub who took up the number 10 role was a cracking little player.

Hope to see him in Europe at some stage in the future. He was like a young Juninho. Tiny but amazing balance.

He's playing in Chile. Would be great to see him with us. Dreaming again....
