If that were true, which it isn't, then he would have tried to shield the ball and win a free kick instead of giving it straight back to the opposition.

I agree Kane used to do that, but since he's been clobbered so much from behind and spent so much time on the treatment table, he just gets rid as quickly as possible. Common knowledge.

Most keepers stand well off their line when the ball is in the opposition's half.
I bet he's done that many times before too.
