Craig Bellamy to Anderlecht - reunion with Vincent Kompany?
https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...craig-16435104
Cardiff City's Craig Bellamy has been linked with a shock move to Belgian giants Anderlecht.
The 39-year-old, who currently holds the role of Bluebirds youth boss, is good friends with Anderlecht's new player-manager Vincent Kompany, who has just left Premier League champions Manchester City to take up the position with his former side.
Rumours were fuelled over the weekend with reports in Belgium linking Kompany and Bellamy with a reunion.
David Steegen, former press officer, but still employed by Anderlecht, posted a photo of himself and Bellamy on Instagram with the caption 'My new colleague', report Voetbalkrant.com .

I wonder if this could be a way of getting Bellamy away from the British press for a year, enabling him to continue working in the game, ahead of a potential return to Cardiff when Warnock departs...

Not the way I see it, he's probably just had enough of the situation and is moving on, so I don't think it's a part of any big master plan.

Blimey, that's a first :hehe:.
Strange what's happened to Bellamy - has this so called move to Anderlecht got more to commend than a couple of Instagram posts?

Looking at that photo, he seems to have put on a bit of weight, so he's probably bored out of his skull without the coaching and TV work.

Good luck to him.
He could return as a better coach .
Or end up at Man City as assistant to Kompany .
Watch this space , Wales and City ???

Re: Craig Bellamy to Anderlecht - reunion with Vincent Kompany?
Maybe he sees as a step up. Maybe it is a step up.

Or maybe he just wants to get on with it, and has had enough of Cardiff? He'd also be working with professional football players.

Would you consider Nottingham Forest a step up?
I was thinking more along the lines of working with men instead of boys. Assuming he's not going as youth team coach.

Yeah, I think it would be a good move to get some experience on the continent. He will need a work permit and an up to date passport though, if he wants to work in the EU

A considerable step up from CCFC youth team. It would arguably be a step up from a CCFC assistant manager role.
I wonder how he’ll get on with the language/s.

Re: Craig Bellamy to Anderlecht - reunion with Vincent Kompany?
Now confirmed:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48664423
Craig Bellamy has signed a three-year contract to join Anderlecht's coaching staff, led by his former Manchester City team-mate Vincent Kompany.
The ex-Wales forward, 39, left his role as a Cardiff City youth coach following accusations he bullied players.
The Bluebirds' investigation into those claims continues and is unaffected by Bellamy's move.
He will take charge of the Under-21 side at Anderlecht, where Kompany has been appointed player-manager.
Welshman Simon Davies, Manchester City's former head of academy coaching, has also made the move to Belgium.
"We are very happy with Craig's arrival at RSC Anderlecht," said the club's youth director Jean Kindermans.
"He has a lot of experience and will be a great mentor for our youth players mentally speaking, but also in terms of football skills."
Bellamy won 78 Wales caps and scored 19 goals between 1998 and 2013. He played for Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle during his club career.
He finished his playing days at hometown club Cardiff City, where he was a driving force in the club's promotion to the Premier League in 2013.

Looks like Bellamy won't be the new manager when Warnock leaves.

Let’s hope it’s not us missing out again as we did with another Cardiff guy who wanted to be our Manager but then went to our neighbours and Real Madrid twice!

Why Not? A year is a long time in a football managers career 😁
