I was standing on the Bob Bank in line with Peter King's shot - the best City goal I have seen.
Also a cracking goal from Bobby Woodruff.
Despite saving a penalty Fumbling Frank Parsons managed to see us off !
Note that Middlesbrough had a Downing playing in this game and also one yesterday.
I can't remember whether Cardiff City Legend Peter King had a testimonial ? If not, perhaps he shoud get one before Whitts.:sherlock:

God, I loved the old Grange End, those late 60s/early 70s days eh! You had to be there, hard to describe. Would love to do a ‘Gary Sparrow’ and go back and have 90 minutes on there again.

I was in the Canton stand as a 15 year old. Those goals were at the other end. We were 3-1 up and Frank Parsons saved a penalty too, and then we lost 3-4. Amazing game in front of 20,000+ fans. Frank was dropped after that game not surprisingly, he seemed to lack confidence anyway. Jim Eadie came in and the following year we signed Bill Irwin.
As someone who is too young to have seen Peter King play for City what kind of player was he?
One of my all time favourites. Midfielder with a great touch. Scored a hat-trick against Preston in a home game, rare for a midfielder. Rarely heard a fan criticise him.Quote:
