Gary Lineker attended his X mother-in-laws funeral in Cardiff on Friday
Gotta be fair, what ever you think of him, what a great gesture

Re: Gary Lineker attended his X mother-in-laws funeral in Cardiff on Friday
I just bought a card of condolence after a German friend of mine lost his wife last week. Unfortunately, the Post Office could only give me a Dad's Army stamp to put on the envelope.

Did you book a flight so you could deliver it by hand and visit another 10 countries on the way?

Do you really think that's wise?

Fortunately, Dad's Army wasn't televised in Germany as far as I know. The Dutch televised it, however....and my friends live on the border.

I think you may be excused.
Don't they love watching Allo Allo! in Germany?

I understand that it was televised in Germany but I am not at liberty to state how it was received. No doubt that there was a spectrum of opinions among the population of over 80 million :-)

I think the OP writes from the view many have on here about the guy who's a bit full of himself.
I happen to agree in that he does grate on me but I think that he more than likely is a nice guy.
Don't see how this makes him any more of a nice guy just because he turns up for a funeral though.
Even if she was a factor in his marriage failing (and I have no idea whether they got on or not) he is showing his respects which may be to the lady herself, or any other family member(s).

Full of himself? He's been taking the piss out of himself for years - jug ears, goal hanger, crisp salesman, etc.

I've always liked him, think he's down to earth and as said, "he doesn't mind the pi$$ being taken out of him"
I do think he's had a nose job though, as it was frigging huge in his younger years.

So what? This is part of it.
It's not like he does it for no reward is it?
An extension of dressing room bantz.
He rarely misses an opportunity to feed his panel a line which portrays himself in a good light. His striking partner chums all play along.
All massaging their own egos in my front room.
Nauseating.

A lot of people don’t like him because he’s a bit of a leftie. For some reason that really winds people up, see also Lilly Allen and Brian Cox.

Brian Cox is alright, as is Linekar irrespective of political sway.
Lilly Allen is just a ****.

I'm just not keen on her really Keith? :hehe:

Re: Gary Lineker attended his X mother-in-laws funeral in Cardiff on Friday
Why would you hate someone because they have a drink and swear?
When was the last time she even released material and had related controversy?
I think the rehousing people thing was misjudged but also misrepresented in the paper.
I never really get the term champagne socioist, should people not care about society just because they’re rich? It seems people are either champagne sociolists or if you’re working class it’s politics of envy.
Almost as if the right want to make caring about things a bad word.

Correction. Hate is strong word that I never used or meant. Are you associating me with the right due to my dislike of Allen?

Sorry I’m saying you were I was just making a point of how things are portrayed in the media with regards to “champagne socialist”

Fair play to the guy.
I quite enjoyed the information about his salary at the end but was hoping really for what his preference in sock colour was. Maybe next time daily mail.
