I alluded to this scenario in another thread. It would depend on the wording of the contract and the triggering event, to assertain when the contract became legally enforceable. It's going to be a legal minefield, as I don't think a situation like this has ever occured before.

Isn't there a recent example of a player transferred to a club but failed to get registration with the Premier league meaning he couldn't play but still belonged to the club who registered him with his home association.
