This could just be a Sam thread on its own.

Two for me. During the dungeon days, the team coming out of the tunnel to ‘Simply The Best’, embarrassing! The other was a male voice choir in front of the Newcastle fans at half time serenading them with ‘Blaydon Races’, cringeworthy!
There’s got to be others.
I ran out as a mascot to Simply The Best. Bring it back I say

I didn't know that Stan!!!
Sam Hammam was a disaster for our club in so many ways but for me this is the worst thing he did. Fuming!

Out of interest, what year did you start supporting City?

Re: Ridiculousness Down The City
Many happenings of the Sam years were ridiculous but I don't think it was a disaster

Re: Ridiculousness Down The City
Sam Hammam dragged this club up but he was a very manipulative man and some of the people he influenced are still unable to tell it like it is and that's disingenuous
We had some great times under him but he treated Wimbledon like a toy and very nearly did the same with us
I think if he had been more realistic from the start and been more open to getting other people involved then things might not have ended so badly
I think his attitude gave the local business community the excuse they needed not to get more involved and the club ended up isolated

My comment was a light hearted jibe. Yes of course I remember. We've never ever had owners who are any good and as soon as the current idiot decides to leave I guess it will be our misfortune to have another bad un.

We’ll strike lucky one day and get a flawless owner everyone likes and admires. We’ll probably be in the National League by then though…

Yup, that's how I see it

Re: Ridiculousness Down The City
Sam Hammam years were great in my opinion. Perhaps not on as solid a foundations as we would have liked but the club moved forward enormously in those few years.
And more than anything else it was fun, and it was cool to be a City fan and sometimes that kinda thing does matter

A bit like blaming Warnock for the ruin of the club really.

I seem to recall he did pay for them to get there. But he didn't pay for them to get home. :hehe:

You might be onto something there but you won't get a reply

Or Neil Harris for that matter. Although I wasn’t aware the club had been ruined.

Re: Ridiculousness Down The City
Ridsdale being suckered into a night out at Kiwi's by an "investor"
Get your season tickets early and we'll invest in players* (*no we won't, we're just desperate for cash)
Ridsdale brazening it out in the Muni Club and claiming going to the cup final cost us 500k
Almost going bust
