Go on youtube and search for dead pixel test. Run the video, it sort of does lots of things to reactivate the things. Worked on my TV but not 100%

Lenny it wont do any harm, it just activates the screen and "excites" all the pixels. Worked on mine but it isnt a 100% fix for all problems. Good luck
