Re: Carabao Cup draw tonight
Surely they could have just put a ball less in both unseeded and seeded for the South section then have the first game as unseeded v West Ham then the second as seeded v Newport instead of Newport being in the North.

Won't be much of a crowd for Burton, but hopefully a way through to the 3rd round when it could get interesting

Re: Carabao Cup draw tonight
Happy with that. Good chance of round 3 for City. First time since the season we went all the way.

I'd like to see the club try something to get a decent crowd in. Maybe a guaranteed £5/£10 ticket for round 3?

both have to play away.
London Stadium not ready after Athletics Championships, Rodney Parade pitch not ready.

Both teams have to play away. Newport are relaying pitch and West Ham's ground won't be ready after the athletics.

Re: Carabao Cup draw tonight
Why are Newport in the Northern section? There are at least 5 teams in the southern draw more northerly than them.

They cannot be in the same draw as West Ham because neither can play at home. Would have been a chance that they were drawn together. Logic would suggest a neutral venue if that were the case, but I don't think any neutral venue would appreciate having its ground cut up by a game in the 2nd round of a Mickey Mouse cup.

They could have just given home ties against West Ham and Newport to the first two teams drawn out.
I was going to say it's not rocket science but simple logic seemed to escape whoever the **** come up with that draw format.

Re: Carabao Cup draw tonight
They could have started the draw with West Ham and Newport as the first two away sides then the first two balls drawn out would have been the opposition.

Seems fair ... but then we would probably not have had Burton at home!

Alternatively if they haven't got anywhere to play then just make them forfeit their place in the competition.
It's professional football not some park league.
I wouldn't expect to host a trampolining competition if I didn't have a trampoline in my back garden.

Sorry my back garden isn't ready yet, but I'm hoping to get one set up at Newport County's ground.

Still watch Turner's goal on a semi regular basis...

Great day in fairness. Possibly the most enjoyable of the Wembley trips.

Hey, what you do in your own spare time is your own business mate. We are not here to judge.
