Mark Meadows @RepMarkMeadows 18m
BREAKING: The House Intel Committee voted to release the classified memo related to FISA and surveillance abuses. It now goes to the President. Outstanding work from Chairman Nunes.
We're one step closer to the public rightfully seeing the very same memo we did. #ReleaseTheMemo

So now we find out that Nunes the stormbringer has not even read the intelligence on which his memo is based. The sooner this shabby bit of political theatre gets aired so that it has some degree of proper scrutiny the better.

Are you saying he's made it all up? That the evidence doesn't even exist?

A cocktail of facts, spin and untruth. The benefit of deliberately misinterpreting classified information of course is that you cannot expose that information to disprove it.

But the facts have to exist right, otherwise there would be chaos. It is my understanding that all of this is based on the preliminary findings of the inspector general, and his full report is due for release sometime around March.

I understand that there is also a Democrat alternative memo based on those facts. Presumably you want that one released as well at the same time so we can see both sides of the argument and reach conclusions.

Also are you saying that Republican staffers for Nunes who wrote the memo a couple of weeks ago were using the Inspector General report at whatever stage of drafting it was rather than the evidence released to the Congressional committee? If so why not just wait until the preliminary report was released rather than codding one up themselves.

They can't just release it, they have to follow a process, the same one that the Nunes memo went through. I am sure we will see it soon enough

Maybe they have sexed up the memo just a little bit, to get ahead of current events? I've no doubt the OIG report is going to be damning, as will further investigations into the FBI, DOJ and the Clintons. In saying that, somebody should realise that they do need to declassify the underlying evidence in order to satisfy people like you, and the other diehard Democrats.

One man's sexing up is another Trump appointed FBI Director's false narrative it would appear. I still favour the publish and be damned route though.

Re: Storm brewing in Washington DC
Must say I continue to be surprised by your unflinching belief in Trump. He's a swamp creature who's playing a role. This memo business is just another psyop distraction. It was written by swamp dwellers, voted to be released by them and now we have this wholly fake melodrama about when the public gets to see it. Any of the politicians who have read it and pretended to be shocked by its contents could have already done so by reading it out in the House, just as any UK MP can say whatever they wish in the Commoms with the protection of Parliamentary Privelege. (Well, anything other than mention who the Bank of England nominees are, anyway.)
There's no chance of any Clinton, Bush, Obama seeing the interior of a prison cell or having their collar felt. Same goes for any other crim of importance.

All of this info has been available on the internet for over a year. Who leaked it out is anyone's guess, but those in power on Capital Hill were late to the game, they didn't even know who the Awan Brothers were until some citizen journalists informed them.
When all is revealed, I think this is going to turn out to be some kind of high-level mousetrap, probably involving US military intelligence.

Press Releases
Nunes Statement on FBI, DOJ Objections to Release of HPSCI Memo
Washington, January 31, 2018
House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today:
“Having stonewalled Congress’ demands for information for nearly a year, it’s no surprise to see the FBI and DOJ issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies. The FBI is intimately familiar with ‘material omissions’ with respect to their presentations to both Congress and the courts, and they are welcome to make public, to the greatest extent possible, all the information they have on these abuses. Regardless, it’s clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.”

Re: Storm brewing in Washington DC
I see it's being widely speculated that the memo is being released at 2pm UK time today. There seems to be much confusion whether it'll be the original version which politicians viewed or an edited/redacted one. I'll stick with my forecast that whatever's released it'll be another psyop nothin' burger.

Of course there is "confusion", the MSM are in full flow doing the very thing they excel at  If it is a nothingburger, expect to see leaks within minutes that attempt to prove it. And don't forget Nunes want to get all the underlying documents released too, so this is all playing into his hands nicely.

Someone's got to play devil's advocate, and I'm a wolf in a field of sheep  Besides that, we have all known for the past year the things that are going to be in memo, you just chose to ignore it. Confirmation bias? MSM persuasion?

Well you have cried wolf often enough to deserve the title I suppose! :-)

Schiff Claims House Intel Republicans ‘Secretly Altered’ Spy Memo
In a letter to California Rep. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the committee, Schiff claimed that Democrats discovered on Wednesday that the classified four-page memo had been “secretly altered” prior to being sent to the White House for review.
“After reviewing both versions, it is clear that the Majority made material changes to the version it sent to the White House, which Committee members were never apprised of, never had the opportunity to review, and never approved,” Schiff wrote.

I'll believe this when you post something from one of your authoritative trusted sources.

The Treehouse website has had this whole story nailed for ages, even has people in government following his Twitter.
