There is no way there are 3 worse teams than us in this league. Just no way.
Huddersfield are about the same as us- as our 2 0-0 games v them showed. Apart from that every other team has more than us in every department.
This isn’t news of course as we knew this at the start of the season. It’s just good we haven’t broken Derby’s low points record which is what many thought we would.

Me neither. He's had a fair few games where nothing went his way, but tonight was not one of them. Niasse and Reid were moving well and showing some nice touches. Paterson was clearly the odd man out. Shocking that of the front three that started, he was the only one that finished the game.

Patterson picked to play wide right was ridiculous. Particularly as Mendez Laing and Harris were on the bench.
With no game over the last 2 weeks where was Murphy ? Not even on the bench.
Falls getting anywhere near the starting eleven shows we are worse than top half championship material.
We should now plan for the championship and a successor for Warnock in the summer.
Don't waste good money on last minute panic transfers that will not save us

I don’t think we’ll be coming from 2-0 down to win 4-2, or coming from behind to beat a Man City / Top 6 side any time soon.
It will take us about 2 months to score 4 goals let alone 45 minutes!!!

Arsenal are dodgy at the back and are susceptible to pace, they were even more so tonight with the injuries they had, and it showed during the first half. Why Patterson started is beyond me when what was needed was pace. I don't think he should have taken Reid of either, he did pretty well first half-What must it do for his confidence?
-
Re: FT: ARSENAL 2 - 1 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Brave effort tonight especially first half much better than past 2 games but we keep getting punished for not taking our chances and making mistakes at the back.
We weren’t looking in too much trouble up to that pelanty either and got punished for 2nd goal as well. Good finish by NML , a pity it didn’t come 5 minutes earlier and nice touch by Rambo to come over to City fans at the end ...oh for a player like him !
We need some new players by 11pm Thursday to give us a lift !

Re: FT: ARSENAL 2 - 1 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Perhaps the team deserve some credit for that performance. Frustrating result but sounds like that was a hard-fought win for Arsenal and we were much more positive in our approach, which is what many have been calling for. Results haven’t gone our way but perhaps positives to take from the game as the old saying goes.

Agreed, I think it would be the perfect opportunity for Neil to call it a day at the end of the season and just enjoy the rest of his life down Cornwall with his mrs, kids and grandchildren, there’s plenty of good managers out there especially in Europe but we desperately need a football man at boardroom level as choo can’t do it all on his own I know he gets support from dalman but they’re both money men

Much more positive during the first 45, just didn't take our chances-We played with a high press and what was interesting to see was that the midfield kept their shape a bit more, weren't so naïve as to follow every Arsenal run, just stayed in position and passed the player on-it was certainly better.

The team does deserve credit. After a poor start, they fought their way into the game. What's perplexing is that Reid was instrumental in that and that Paterson was having little impact.

Patterson is a Warnock player, as is Bamba, he is very loyal to them even when they become ineffective or a liability.

We came from 1-0 down to win 4-2. Sounds like Brighton had a mare, but their away form is odd.
Important that Man Utd came back from 2-0 down.
We had chances in the first half. Reid, for all his good play, always seems to snatch at chances. He gets into some great positions. A couple of goals will help. Warnock needs to persist with the Niasse/Reid combo. It looked good. It fell apart, as we agree, when they went off.
I did say that some sides near the bottom will pick up. They always do. However, Palace are still not getting results. Burnley thought they had a win and that will affect them. If Fulham survive it will be an incredible escape. Huddersfield are gone.

In fairness to Paterson, he caused Arsenal some problems and he's been an unlikely candidate for player of the season so far.

Disagree on Burnley. They rode their luck to get 2-0 and whilst they may be feeling disappointed to throw away the lead as late as they did I imagine when they reflect tomorrow they have taken an unexpected point, and the first team to take anything off United in 10 games. There’s plenty of positives to take.
It’s not like they’ve thrown away a 2 goal lead to a relegation rival.

We caught a couple of teams by surprise but just using him for his ability to win headers is league 2 tactics tbh, the only position I could see him playing is back in midfield but I would prefer to have him on the bench for the next couple of games

Stick him back at right back. The guys started to believe his own hype as a forward player. Those two left foot shots 2nd half were so frustrating because they were 2 excellent positions wasted.

God no don’t put him RB he’s so easily caught out by the man running in behind him it’s embarrassing

Surely its easier to coach defending than persisting with trying to make this guy a forward.

Re: FT: ARSENAL 2 - 1 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Just saw Warnock's post-match interview with the BBC.
He slaughtered Manga for the penalty (and the penalty that wasn't in the first half - that balanced out our penalty that wasn't). He was as competitive and desperate for a win as ever - no sign of him wilting under the pressure.
He also said Joe Bennett's dad died 3 days ago!
This team/squad/club have shown massive spirit in awful circumstances. Proud of them tonight.

Agreed but don’t think we have the coaching ability to do that especially looking at the defence making the same daft mistakes week in week out

Not when his instinct is attacking. He's not a right back while he's got a hole in his arse.

He’s not a striker either, or a bloody winger!!!
And if we’re going to play with an attacking midfielder / second striker I would much prefer Reid.
