    Re: Etheridge vs Smithies

It is an opinion based upon the goals we conceded while Smithies was playing. Smithies, conceded soft goals to a number of sides, which could have been easily prevented. Etheridge, does (and has been...

    Re: Etheridge vs Smithies

Nah, Basically Etheridge is a better shot stopper and passer while Smithies makes errors and saves penalties.

    Re: Etheridge vs Smithies

I do agree, he does seem unconfident. Whenever the ball comes back at him, I feel he is just as worried as us. I feel this may impact him and cause the worry. I didn’t hear the thing about extra...

    Re: Etheridge vs Smithies

Unfortunately, this point is wrong as they both have played 10 games each. If anything, Smithies has had more game time as Etheridge has been subbed (during the Wigan game)

    Etheridge vs Smithies

We have all seen comments that maybe Etheridge should be swapped with Smithies, so I thought we should compare them.
    What should compare?
Shot Stopping, Reflexes, Catching, Passing, Penalty...
  9. Re: Great win but lack pace in midfield

We were overrun due to the formations we were playing/against. We played wingers, in a 442 or 4411 while Barnsley were playing 4 in a diamond. This was no more evident, when we would overlap with our...
  10. Re: Football has been ruined by the premier league

Yep. 1 more fan if you include teachers, but saying that, there are three Swansea fan teachers too
  11. Re: Football has been ruined by the premier league

Unfortunately this is how it is. I am currently in the school system.
My year is about 240 kids, give or take 50/50 boys and girls. Let’s say 60% of boys and 5% of girls are interested in football....

Don’t worry, this happens all the time.
Madine is the white one not Bogle.

    Re: EURO 2020 DRAW: LIVE

    Overall, good draw for us.
We got the luck to avoid group B (what I think is a black horse group of death) and got into A therefore.
We got what I would have said was the worst team in Pot 2 (that...

Re: Euros spoilt by home advantage..

Yes, hosts have an advantage. In the international game, the team at home will score on average 0.5 goals more than the away team, even more when in an international tournament. The world cup has...
  15. Re: “Squad Too Big” - Who should go?

I don’t know about good, he concedes over a goal a game with 1/3rd of those conceded arguably errors. He certainly is expensive though
  16. Re: “Squad Too Big” - Who should go?

    I think you’re exaggerating a bit.
No one’s going to be advocating for Connolly and Day in the squad are they?
We have a pretty set in stone first 11 I believe
    Etheridge, Bennett, Flint, Nelson,...
  17. “Squad Too Big” - Who should go?

Listed below is all the players that are or could potentially be considered first team (and their date of contract expiration):

    Goalkeeper:
    Etheridge (2021)
    Smithies (2022)
    Day (2021)
    B....

Peltier - Fine wine. Was easily our best player on Saturday
Morrison - Hands down better than Flint; however might not be fit/psychologically...

    Was a cracking game.
Funny how the game loops around... the manager for Flamengo had a job in Portuguese football back 14 years back. He lost the title and Europa League in the 92nd minute only to...
