    Re: Toxic Atmosphere

    Very fair points.

I shouldn't have piped up in the first place.
I do remember some stories at the time.

Anyhow, it is also possible that if Ole's influx plyers where 'the problem' - then...

If you use the current version of Ookla Speedtest instead: http://www.speedtest.net you can manually select the server each time.

Would help bring a tad more consistency for your testing,...

    Re: Space aliens

If our planet had not supposedly been hit by an asteroid and thus Dinosaurs had continued to be the dominant life-form, how evolved might they have got by now?
    Not very I'd guess.
    Previously...
  9. Re: cyber attack on our health service and other countries

An over-arching IT overhaul takes Money. It really does.
    Is there any?
As far as we know - no - there is not.

Governments will bail out Banks - they 'cannot be allowed to fail'.
    But the NHS?...
  10. Re: World War 3 to begin on May 13, 2017 (circle the date in your diaries, folks).

I've just saved time by not circling the a date in my diary, but instead throwing it in the bin.
Ah- that reminds me, I must remember to put the bins out on Wednesday.
  11. Re: cyber attack on our health service and other countries

    Indeed.

Having said all that, I've been involved in Windows OS upgrade rollouts I can understand that there are other reasons, but it all comes down to cost in the end.

    The trouble is - old...

  13. Re: cyber attack on our health service and other countries

"decided not to extend a £5.5million one-year support deal with Microsoft for Windows XP. "

    XP .. :ohwell:

There's no money for anything in the NHS nor Local Gov't.
Not going to get any better...

    Re: Toxic Atmosphere

I have more than a suspicion (it was alluded to by a few ITK at the time) regards one of the sources of this supposed 'toxicity' but I also suspect that it wouldn't be a popular thing to bring up.

feck me ! Behavioral advice from Polo  :hehe:

Yeah sure I can do that. I know when I'm in the wrong and happy to admit it when I am - as Matt knows.

    Perhaps you, Tandy and 'Kris'...

  19. Re: cyber attack on our health service and other countries

    You said:
"the NHS are not under a specific attack, the attackers did not set out to attack them"

Made no sense at the time. Makes a bit more sense now that the story has evolved ;)
