  1. Re: Gary Neville talking about VAR just now..

Having to amend a number or rules - to allow a system that was allegedly brought in to ensure the existing rules were correctly applied, strikes of madness. Anyway it's Neville's language that irks...
  2. Re: Coronavirus Spreading North Italy Lock Down

There's a lot of 'flu in Italy at the moment, too..
  3. Re: Gary Neville talking about VAR just now..

Best day out in years at Luton. Two bang average sides but noise, loads of banter, close to the pitch and players, you could feel you were at a game - plus a great little ground which will sadly be...
  4. Re: Gary Neville talking about VAR just now..

Football's becoming entertainment. When Neville starts referring going to watch football as "the fan experience". I think of Superbowl. The media already calls attack 'offence'..
  5. Gary Neville talking about VAR just now..

".. bring the fans along on the journey..". " It will add to the fan experience..".

Slowly me and football are drifting apart..
  6. Re: STOKE CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match Thread

I'd say that Stoke and Huddersfield are two not dissimilar teams - neat passing but with little end product. That the two performances were so widely different can only be down to Tomlin's absence....

Re: Loads of empty seats in the Emptyhad

Lots of empty seats at the Southampton v Burnley game the other day. Also Championship gates dramatically down in mid week. It seems that ST holders are less likely to attend games they don't fancy...

Totally agree. Probably the only grown up post on this thread..
  10. Re: Wolves v Leicester City tonite 20.00 (on BT Sport)

Yes, they are. I've said it before, TV runs football nowadays. The armchair 'footy fan' and the bloke who goes to the actual game are following two distinctly different sports. Yes, I'll watch TV...

    Re: Lee Peltier

Peltier was an employee, managed by Harris. Why he left is a private matter which the club can choose to disclose or otherwise. If they choose not to then it's open to speculation. I have a hunch...
  12. Re: The night the rest of the Championship began to notice Cardiff City?

There was an element of irony in my comment. It's relatively easy for managers to get a group of players passing the ball around between their own penalty area and the opposition's, especially as the...
  13. Re: The night the rest of the Championship began to notice Cardiff City?

Blimey, the presses must have been rolling all night !

Having been at the Luton game and watching the Huddersfield match on stream, the performances were markedly different. A half time rocket...

    Was the same at Luton..

    Re: Swansea City tonight

Yes, Swansea will always attract good talent with their football philosophy, but NIL shots on target for the whole 90+ minutes ? I don't think City at their direst managed that..

    Re: Swansea City tonight

Agree, but there's just so much PL and Championship football on TV - up to .6 nights a week. Championship gates are falling for the 1st time in a long while, and you can now see gaps in the 'stands'...

    Swansea City tonight

less than 15,000 - sounded less than 10,000. And NIL shots on goal.
  18. Re: Premier league clubs and an Australian Bank

I was reading [somewhere] this week about the potential income that the PL is looking at with the changes in how people view their media. Effectively it'll all be pay-per-view across the globe with...

LISTEN - AND READ VERY CAREFULLY.

A pile of smug, pretentious sh*t. No doubt they'll all be smirking in the coffee shops on Islington High Street.

    Re: VAR (again)

The on-field referee is becoming just a token official. I laughed at the SKY [BT ?] commentator saying "whatever your views on VAR it was great entertainment ". Entertainment, yes. Football ? No.
  23. Re: Latest terror attack , blaming the police etc

and that's irony. They call these 'terrorist attacks' - the Govt. gets all 'spooks' like and calls 'Cobra' meetings, and it's just a nutter high on drugs..
  24. Re: Does anybody actually want to go up this season?

The teams that have gone up and stayed up in recent years tend to fit a pattern. They all spent money across the squad, but no really huge, significant signings. In other words looking for value for...
