    Re: Cardiff, growing too fast?

Monorail! I wonder how much it would cost for a Wuppertal style suspension railway. But if the council's skint then never mind.

    Re: Idea for a signing

Talking of former midfielders, Haris Vuckic was released by Newcastle and signed for FC Twente, and Conor McAleny (less a midfielder but a versatile forward type) left Everton on a free and is now at...

    Re: Reforms to the game

The suggested unfair advantage of having the ball at your feet with no-one marking you and the goalie on the ground, after he/she saved the initial pelanty.

    Re: Reforms to the game

I'm not sure I agree about the penalties. They are technically special free kicks and just like FKs play begins again once the kick is taken. Maybe they could have a rule that the penalty taker...

    Re: Our new kit :yikes:

Nice to know I'm not alone. I like a stylish football top, and our home shirt got close before it was turned into a stag do t-shirt.

France have had a history of good kits, so I understand your...

    Re: NEW KITS LOOK AMAZING!

I'm glad you like it but the advertising looks bigger in today's pics. It looks more like a Visit Malaysia t-shirt than a Cardiff top.

    Re: Our new kit :yikes:

Good question. This is the 7th year we'll have Malaysia on the shirt and I'm not sure if the financial benefit has ever been pinned down. There was a figure of 3M reported in 2013 but that was...

    Re: Our new kit :yikes:

In the mid 90s there was an option to buy a cotton t-shirt version of the home shirt (but in black). It had the badge and Strika logo and sponsor and I got one cos I couldn't afford the main shirt. ...

    Re: Our new kit :yikes:

'We worked closely with Adidas' - they sent us a few templates and we chose one.

I think they look alright though, but the sponsor has been photoshopped, surely? Possibly the badge too.

    Re: Whitts.....Why ??

Yep. Usually when players are subbed they give the manager a hug, some flowers and a poem they wrote about their friendship. But Whitts didn't. That said it all to me.

    Re: Yaya Sanogo

I can't go for that (Say no go). Actually, I don't know enough about him. We probably need to be looking at this type of player; either one who's on the cusp of things or one who needs to take a...

    Re: The Welsh youth thread...

Agreed, but are we out? On the page I was looking at it says we're into a play-off. Thought Wales deserved more from the game too; the pitch didn't seem to help any attempt to knock the ball around.
  19. Re: Champions League Final - Juventus V Real Madrid

I figured it all comes down to cash but it seems weird when you can rake it in at a number of clubs. I just wish the commentators, while crowing about Madrid's achievements, would mentioned this...
  20. Re: Champions League Final - Juventus V Real Madrid

If football was a corporation Real Madrid would be the board room. Players work their way up to play for them. Does anyone ever turn them down?

Why suddenly have Madrid in particular captured...
  21. Re: Which event in history would you change?

The point in evolution which decided that the egotistical drive for power wasn't worth worrying about and would probably sort itself out eventually.

And another vote for the play off final, obvs.

Poll: Re: Election day is imminent

Why do you think that? I've read that she's regarded (by those who have experience in international negotiation) as a nightmare waiting to happen. At least Labour have some savvy on their side.

    Re: Digital Camera

Beware that you'll probably be told to stop taking pics by stewards, so you'll need to be discreet. I think they sent Jon Candy a letter to tell him to stop. It's all prohibited nowadays. There...
